Larian Studios has announced a massive patch for Baldur’s Gate 3, which will include over 1,000 fixes and take into account player feedback. As gamers have been encountering significant bugs in the game, the fanbase eagerly awaits this patch.
Since its release earlier this month, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been incredibly successful on PC. It has received widespread acclaim from major media outlets and has become one of the most popular games in Steam history. At its peak, the game had over 875,000 players, and currently, it still maintains a player base of over 600,000. However, due to the immense size of the game, there are a few bugs that need to be addressed, and Larian Studios is fully aware of this issue.
Larian's CEO Swen Vincke recently shared details about the upcoming updates for Baldur's Gate 3 on Twitter. Following the upcoming Hotfix 4, Larian will release a significant patch for BG3, which will incorporate more than a thousand fixes and adjustments to enhance the overall gameplay experience. Additionally, Swen indicated that a second update is already being planned to address player feedback and further enhance this unique interpretation of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition.
This announcement follows the recent release of Baldur's Gate 3's latest hotfix update, known as Hotfix 3. This minor update successfully resolved over 200 glitches that were initially present in the game, including those causing crashes for some players. Notably, the update also introduced a few quality-of-life improvements, such as the option to change the color of the game's dice. Overall, it is evident that Larian is dedicated to making significant improvements to the BG3 experience.
The PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on September 6. It will be an improved version of the title compared to PC, including all hotfixes, patches, and the yet unreleased Patch 1. In addition to potentially having fewer bugs and more stability, the PS5 version will also be adapted to work well with controllers. However, there are rumors that the graphics may appear outdated in comparison to running BG3 on powerful gaming computers, which is expected when consoles compete with high-end PCs. Baldur's Gate 3 is currently available for PC, and an Xbox version is also in development.
