Unveiling the Exquisite Hydro Traveler Kit in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact players can now discover the intriguing abilities of the Hydro Traveler, including the fascinating Spiritsbreath mechanic, adding an exciting new dimension to their gameplay experience

With the release of Version 3.8, Genshin Impact players are now receiving significant leaks about the new Fontaine region. This includes the complete ability set for the Hydro Traveler. Unlike other Genshin Impact characters who possess fixed elements, the Traveler has the unique ability to wield any element, thanks to the updates that have unlocked Anemo, Geo, Electro, and Dendro elements. Now, with the addition of Hydro in the upcoming Fontaine region, players are hoping for a powerful ability kit that can rival the current meta, especially considering the effectiveness of the Dendro Traveler in premium teams reliant on characters like Yae Miko and Raiden Shogun.

The Hydro Traveler's ability kit and Aquacrest Saber have been revealed through leaks from Mero and Blednaya on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit. The Traveler's Sword remains unchanged in terms of Normal and Charged Attacks. However, the Aquacrest Saber allows the Traveler to unleash a rapid stream of attacks at the cost of their health. The Elemental Skill releases a powerful wave of water when tapped, while holding it for up to six seconds allows the Traveler to continuously attack enemies with dewdrops.

Notably, the Aquacrest Saber also interacts with the new Spiritsbreath mechanic in Fontaine. Characters from Fontaine can receive Pneuma-aligned or Ousia-aligned damage bonuses. This mechanic reflects the duality theme in Fontaine. The exact impact of this mechanic on combat in Fontaine and the possibility of it appearing in the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact remains to be seen. However, Lynette, Lyney, Freminet, and the Hydro Traveler all appear to have some interaction with this mechanic.

The Traveler's newly introduced Elemental Burst ability is known as Rising Waters. From the description provided, it appears to bear similarities to the Anemo Traveler's Elemental Burst, albeit in a slower-moving form. To counterbalance the health reduction caused by using the Aquacrest Saber, Hydro Travelers will possess a passive talent enabling them to restore their HP by collecting Sourcewater Droplets. These droplets can be obtained by utilizing the Hold function of Aquacrest Saber upon striking an opponent. At this stage, it is still too early to accurately assess the combat prowess of the Hydro Traveler in Genshin Impact. However, it is undoubtedly a distinctive and intriguing kit in theory.

Genshin Impact is currently accessible on PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version under development.
