Discovering a Path Beyond the Barrier

Despite mounting a stronger resistance against Barnabas in their latest encounter, Clive suffered defeat yet again during a crucial mission in the captivating world of Final Fantasy 16. While Clive narrowly escaped grave harm, he also unlocked newfound abilities. Now that Jill is out of harm's way, Clive directs his focus towards locating the ultimate Mothercrystal within the vast realm of Valisthea.

The issue lies in the fact that King Barnabas's domain on the continent of Ash houses the ultimate Mothercrystal. Upon arriving in Ash, Final Fantasy 16 players will commence the main scenario quest "Footfalls in Ash", where they should anticipate the following. Caution should be exercised as this walkthrough contains spoilers.

Go to Stonhyrr

After the cutscenes conclude, commence your journey up the path leading to Stonhyrr. Traverse the castle gate to discover a forsaken settlement. Within its desolate bounds, players will encounter nothing but the minions of Ultima. Before long, a band of adversaries will present themselves, necessitating the player's intervention. Dispose of them and persist along the path to encounter additional groups of enemies obstructing progress.

Further along the pathway, engage the lever to unlock the obstructing gate ahead. During the journey, a short cinematic sequence will ensue. Upon its conclusion, continue along the pathway leading to Stonhyrr.

Village Detour

An ancient map reveals the existence of a nearby village. To reach Eistla, simply follow the pointed waypoint. Although there are several feeble monsters en route, they are advantageous for acquiring additional ability points and experience. Yet, it is crucial to stay cautious of the Blue Trifles, as they possess substantial health and their ice magic inflicts significant harm.

While in the Angry Gap, open the map and search for a secluded area that is separate from the rest of the map. Within this small space, you will find a chronolith and a treasure chest containing the powerful Masamune. If players of Final Fantasy 16 already possess the Rangarok weapon, then the Masamune will not provide an upgrade. However, for those who have not yet obtained Ragnarok, the Masamune will serve as a significant improvement in the meantime. Simply continue along the path and cross the bridge to reach the village.

Find a Way Past the Barrier

Venture into the village only to be greeted by a less than hospitable reception from a gang of adversaries. Brace yourself, as several more waves of enemies will materialize once you have dispatched the initial group. Once you have vanquished all the foes, an engrossing cutscene will unfold. Once the cutscene concludes, take the opportunity to explore the village.

Ascend the nearby staircase and approach the obelisk to activate fast travel and return to this location readily. Acquire the nearby High Potion and proceed towards the adjacent door. As you enter the residence, a series of cutscenes will unfold. Once they have concluded, head right towards the gate that leads out of the village. Follow the southeastern path that leads to the Edge of Infinity. Persevere along the route until a cutscene triggers, and the world map becomes accessible. Proceed to Reverie to advance the plot and commence the subsequent main scenario quest.
