With the recent announcement of Iron Crown and Raging Bolt, fans' suspicions have been confirmed that two additional Paradox forms will soon be introduced for Terrakion and Entei.
The latest DLC trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet showcased new forms for Cobalion and Raikou, hinting at the existence of two more Paradox Pokemon for Generation 9 to complete the Legendary Trios. Initially, the reveal of Virizion's and Suicune's Paradox forms caused confusion as they did not match the previously teased sketches. However, with the introduction of Iron Crown and Raging Bolt, these sketches now make sense. It was unclear whether Scarlet and Violet's sketches were misleading, given the anticipation for a combined trio and the addition of Iron Leaves and Walking Wake before any DLC. However, the reveal of Paradox forms for Cobalion and Raikou, which will be available in The Teal Mask portion of the DLC, has revived fan theories. As there will be a second part of the DLC for Scarlet and Violet, and with Terrakion and Entei remaining in their trios, it can be assumed that there are still two more Paradox Pokemon yet to come.
Cobalion and Raikou and the Future of Paradox Pokemon
Despite not being the main focus of the latest trailer and the breakdown of Scarlet and Violet's DLC, the designs of Paradox Cobalion and Raikou have received mixed reactions, particularly concerning Raikou's giraffe-like neck. However, their inclusion in Scarlet and Violet, alongside Iron Leaves and Walking Wake, provides players with a better understanding of what the future of Paradox Pokemon may hold. While the Ancient and Future forms introduced so far have largely centered around Legendary Pokemon, there is potential for new Paradox forms based on standard Pokemon in future generations, such as Gen 9 or beyond.
The renewed interest in Paradox Pokemon, combined with their connection to Scarlet and Violet's DLC, suggests a deeper involvement with the mysterious Area Zero. This is further supported by Game Freak's inclusion of historic sketches of expedition crews and enigmatic cave markings in the showcase, leaving players intrigued. It seems that Game Freak is building towards a climactic finale in Area Zero and the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Additionally, rumors surrounding future Pokemon projects as potential successors to Scarlet and Violet only strengthen this belief.
Terrakion and Entei Could Soon Follow
Game Freak's future Pokemon games suggest the addition of two new Paradox forms for Terrakion and Entei. These two Legendary Pokemon, along with Keldeo, are believed to be the remaining members of their respective trios. In the near future, Game Freak is expected to introduce the Paradox Terrakion and Entei, similar to how Scarlet and Violet's first DLC teased new forms for Cobalion and Raikou. The designs and type combinations of these Paradox forms are topics of speculation for fans until their official inclusion is confirmed. The existing sketches from Scarlet and Violet's books indicate the presence of all three Legendary Paradox Pokemon, making it highly likely that Terrakion and Entei will be part of Scarlet and Violet. However, no official confirmation has been made yet. Meanwhile, fans can still look forward to the upcoming Scarlet and Violet DLC, which will feature new Pokemon, evolutions, and more.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now for Nintendo Switch.
