Players who have formed a bond with the Water Droplets in the Veluriyam Mirage of Genshin Impact may feel uneasy when confronted by the Hydro Phantasm of Fontaine. Similar to the Hydro Eidolon, these entities are composed of water, but unlike the passive Bottleland Droplets, the Hydro Phantasm is aggressive and will not hesitate to attack players.

In Fontaine, Hydro Phantasms are considered Elite enemies and their defeat is necessary for obtaining weapon Ascension materials, but no character requires them for their own Ascension. Additionally, there are two local legends associated with the Hydro Phantasms that, when defeated, may grant players an achievement. This pattern is also observed in underwater exploration, where defeating bosses like the Fading Veteran and Sword of the Gorge bestows achievements with matching names. The two Genshin Impact local legends associated with the Hydro Phantasms are called Vivianne of the Lake and Ninianne of the Lake, and players can easily locate them in their designated areas above ground.

Vivianne, the Hydro Phantasm in Genshin Impact, can be located towards the northern border of Court of Fontaine. This remarkable entity is surrounded by a distinctive purple ritual circle and emits an impressive aura.

Prior to engaging with this renowned figure, it is strongly recommended to assemble a capable team. Having a formidable shield-bearing character like Zhongli from the top-tier in Genshin Impact would be particularly advantageous. Underestimating Vivianne of the Lake would be unwise, as she possesses a devastating strike capable of swiftly incapacitating non-HP-focused characters in just two hits or fewer.

Players should take note that Vivianne, as a Hydro Phantasm, possesses a natural affinity for Hydro. Consequently, it is advisable to refrain from employing Hydro attacks and instead favor Elements capable of inducing Elemental Reactions such as Pyro or Dendro. Notably, Cryo will prove ineffective as this mini-boss possesses immunity against being Frozen.
