Unveiling the Enchanting Love Story of Katie Cassidy and Stephen Huszar: From On-Screen Romance to Real-Life Fairytale

Katie Cassidy, despite her royal status or lack thereof, developed strong feelings for Stephen Huszar during their collaboration on Hallmark Channel's A Royal Christmas Crush. As they portrayed the characters of Ava, an architect, and Prince Henry in the romantic comedy set in 2023, their undeniable bond became apparent after their encounter in Canada in March 2023.

"We maintained a professional demeanor throughout, but there was an undeniable connection between us. It felt like there was a secret bond that only we shared," Cassidy revealed exclusively to We in June 2023, while discussing the film. "In moments when our characters were supposed to let their guard down, we were able to truly connect and create an intimacy on screen. It was something we couldn't resist."

Despite feeling an immediate attraction, Cassidy admitted to initially having reservations about working closely with another good-looking Canadian actor named Stephen. She had previously worked alongside Stephen Amell, who she referred to as a "brother," on The CW's Arrow from 2012 to 2015, playing the roles of Laurel Lance/Black Canary and later Black Siren from 2016 to 2020. (Huszar, on his part, is a Canadian actor well-known for his portrayal of Luke Tatum on Hallmark's Chesapeake Shores.)

Despite her initial reservations, Cassidy was captivated by Huszar and their shared love for crystals. Their connection grew stronger while filming a scene together for A Royal Christmas Crush, leading them to publicly announce their relationship in May 2023.

"I'll never forget that scene in the barn. I was looking at him, and in that moment, I knew. I'm not exaggerating. I was leaning on the table, listening to his lines, and I literally felt like I was going to fall over," Cassidy reminisced. She revealed that she and Huszar discovered they had both started falling for each other during the "same scene," just "30 seconds apart."

Filming of Hallmark's A Royal Christmas Crush commenced with Cassidy and Huszar. Through Instagram, the duo provided a glimpse into their enchanting winter escapades, as Cassidy offered a sneak peek into their snowy backdrop.

Speculation about a romantic relationship between Cassidy and Huszar arose after she tagged him in various vacation pictures from around the globe, such as a stunning snapshot of a full moon in Fiji and a captivating solo photo of her standing on a dock in Monaco.

The pair's initial joint project with Hallmark, titled A Royal Christmas Crush, made its debut as a part of the network's "Christmas in July" lineup.

Cassidy, in an exclusive interview with Us, mentioned that when there is real chemistry, it effortlessly manifests itself. She further shared that sparks flew between them right from the early stages of filming. Huszar, on his part, expressed the significance of maintaining professionalism, but admitted that emotions do inevitably arise.
