Stephen Huszar was surrounded by furry friends while working on Hallmark's Everything Puppies, and he couldn't be happier. "Acting with animals is always a joy. I have three pets of my own," Huszar, 40, shared with We on Friday, May 17, as he talked about the new Hallmark Channel movie. "I have a couple of cats and a dog, so it's wonderful to work alongside these adorable creatures."
Huszar, who plays pet store general manager Alex in the movie, shared that the golden retrievers he worked with were very engaging and enjoyable.
Despite the challenges of filming with animals, the actor mentioned that these dogs were well-behaved and obedient.
Animals are always a joy to work with in movies. They bring so much fun and energy to the set. Whenever I have the opportunity to act alongside animals, I always jump at the chance. That's just how much I love working with them.
Huszar fondly remembers working with a dog named Mosey in the film. Despite not being a puppy, Mosey was incredibly calm and patient. Whether it was getting washed or going for a run, Mosey was always cooperative and easy to work with on set. Huszar couldn't help but praise the dog for being such a great co-star.

He playfully mentioned that when he began acting, the others were already much more experienced and skilled. He praised their training and talent.
Huszar pointed out that the puppies appeared in multiple scenes and were incredibly cute to watch every day.
"He mentioned, 'They're adorable little creatures. You know that sweet baby scent? It's similar when you're around these young puppies. They're just so lovable.'"
Huszar's colleagues weren't all animals. Alongside the furry friends, the Hallmark actor also collaborated with Pascal Lamothe-Kipnes, who portrays Scarlett, a dog treat inventor in the film. Working together, Scarlett and Alex attempt to introduce her delicious and nutritious treats to a large pet store chain.
Huszar praised his scene partner as "great, super professional, [a] really great actress," in an interview with Us.
He revealed that the actors first met on the set of Everything Puppies and only rehearsed with their own dogs before filming.

Huszar mentioned that they did some training for rock climbing to ensure they were comfortable during the shoot. It only took a few days, but it went smoothly. Sometimes things just click, and this was definitely one of those times.
Huszar shared that the main takeaway from the movie should be Scarlett's journey.
He simply supports her in her dreams. The key is to have a great idea and believe in it. Keep pushing forward because if you believe in it, it will eventually come to fruition. Others will also join in and support you once they see your passion. That's the main message he wants to convey.
Don't miss the premiere of Everything Puppies on Hallmark Channel this Saturday, May 18, at 8 p.m. ET.
