Throughout season 1, viewers witnessed Jamie Sayed navigating the highs and lows of his relationships with different coworkers. In a later interview, the bosun opened up about his experience working alongside Captain Jason.

"When starting any new job, it's crucial to understand the dynamics between yourself and the captain, and vice versa," Jamie shared with Decider in May 2022. "Given that we were all suddenly thrust onto the same boat, we had to quickly adapt and find a way to make it work. In addition to adjusting to one another, we had the added pressure of accommodating guests, organizing beach setups, and providing entertainment—all while ensuring the safety of everyone involved."

Formerly, the police officer expressed that he experienced "some tension" with Jason while they familiarized themselves with each other. Their shared objective remained constant, yet they had to find a way to collaborate effectively. Initially, they had slightly divergent approaches.
