When is the draw?
The draw for the group stage of the 2023/24 Champions League will occur in Monaco on Thursday, August 31 at 5pm (BST), revealing the opponents for Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle, and Celtic in the opening round.

Who is in the draw?
Man City currently hold the title of Champions League champions.Twenty-six teams secured their spots in the Champions League group stage based on their league positions in the 2022/23 season, while an additional six teams earned their places through the play-offs.

How does the draw work?
The 32 teams will be split into four seeding pots for Thursday's draw.Pot 1 will include Man City, Sevilla (winners of the Europa League), and six domestic champions. Pots 2 to 4 will be determined based on club coefficient rankings.
Teams are not allowed to face each other from their own league at this point, with the exception of teams from England and Scotland. UEFA will provide additional restrictions before the draw ceremony.
