Ever since the beginning of Tokyo Revengers anime, the series protagonist, Hanagaki Takemichi, has been determined to alter Hinata Tachibana's tragic destiny. Throughout this quest, fans have been led to perceive Takemichi as weak due to his frequent beatings. However, this belief couldn't be further from the truth.
Tokyo Revengers revolves around the journey of Hanagaki Takemichi, a man in his mid-twenties, who gains the extraordinary ability to travel back and forth in time. Utilizing this newfound power, he endeavors to rescue his ex-girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, from impending death. To accomplish this mission, Takemichi must venture into the past and rectify significant events that will shape a brighter future.

From the start of Tokyo Revengers, both fans and characters have bestowed upon Takemichi the moniker of the "Crybaby Hero." Nevertheless, the protagonist emerges as one of the series' strongest characters in terms of mental fortitude. Even when faced with overwhelming odds, Takemichi refuses to cower and selflessly exposes himself to danger in order to save his friends.
This exemplary display of unwavering determination and purpose reflects Takemichi's conviction and aspirations. Rather than idly standing by and doing nothing, he would rather endure physical harm while endeavoring to make a difference. In essence, Takemichi bears a striking resemblance to Mikey's older brother, Shinichiro. Like Takemichi, Shinichiro was similarly feeble, yet possessed an indomitable resolve that compelled others to rally behind him and embrace his cause.

While it's a fact that Takemichi only revealed his time leaping secret to Chifuyu, he has numerous other allies. Despite his initial weakness, Takemichi's courage gained recognition from Mikey and Draken. In addition to that, several Tokyo Manji Gang captains also recognized Takemichi's value. Moreover, his bravery has saved several Toman members.
Some fans may argue against this, contending that Takemichi's display of bravery stems from his awareness of the potential negative repercussions that could ensue from his actions.
While the theory may hold some truth, it undeniably requires great courage to confront a formidable adversary like Taiju Shiba. As viewers witnessed in the second season, Takemichi refused to surrender against the leader of the Black Dragons and fearlessly endured all the attacks in an attempt to save his friend, Hakkai Shiba.
Moreover, it is apparent in numerous scenes throughout the anime that Takemichi and his allies are aware of his weakness. However, a recent comparable situation arose when Kakucho dared Takemichi to engage in a fight. Despite Chifuyu's immediate efforts to prevent the confrontation, Takemichi willingly accepted the challenge.
Kakucho, as shown in Tokyo Revengers (Image by LIDENFILMS), instantly recognized Takemichi and attempted to engage in some lighthearted banter. However, Takemichi remained oblivious to this fact. Consequently, when he unintentionally knocked down Kakucho, he was taken aback by the unexpected turn of events. Despite being keenly aware of his own vulnerability in such a situation, Takemichi refused to retreat, displaying unwavering determination in his quest to achieve his objective.
This is the ability that makes people, who are physically stronger than Takemichi, join his cause to save Toman.
