Highlights
Mortal Kombat 1 offers a significant amount of content and has impressed fans with its long story mode, new takes on classic characters, and various gameplay options.
Fans looking to fully explore the game can aim to complete the achievement list, but there is currently one achievement that cannot be obtained. This has led to frustration among achievement hunters.
The achievement in question, called "The Mighty Have Fallen," can only be obtained by completing a Titan Battle, which is currently not possible. However, it is anticipated that Titan Battles will be included as additional content after the game's release, allowing players to achieve a 100% completion rate.
Mortal Kombat 1, the recently released reboot, has captivated fans with its extensive amount of content. This ambitious installment introduces fresh interpretations of beloved characters, featuring the longest story mode in the franchise's history. Players have the option to engage in single matches against AI or online opponents.
For dedicated fans who wish to fully immerse themselves in Mortal Kombat 1, there is the daunting task of completing the comprehensive achievement/trophy list. This list encompasses objectives pertaining to every aspect of the game's content. While many achievements pose little challenge for seasoned players and achievement hunters, there is one particular achievement that remains unattainable. This issue has caused turmoil within the achievement and trophy hunting communities.
Mortal Kombat 1's Unobtainable Achievement
Since its release on September 14, dedicated fans have been diligently working to unlock all of Mortal Kombat 1's impressive list of accomplishments. This highly anticipated fighting reboot offers a total of 50 achievements, designed to test players in various aspects of gameplay. These challenges range from completing story-related feats to undertaking time-consuming tasks, all of which reward those who put in the effort.
For achievement and trophy hunters, it's good news that the difficulty level does not affect these challenges. This means that all achievements can be obtained even on the game's relaxed Very Easy mode. Unlike many other achievement lists, obtaining the majority of Mortal Kombat 1's achievements is not overly daunting. Estimates suggest that players can unlock all but two achievements within just 15 hours of gameplay.
One of the remaining tasks is quite time-consuming. In order to achieve "Rollin' With My Krew," players must reach mastery status with five different Kameo Characters. These characters are temporary allies in combat, each with their own abilities and special moves. It is estimated that mastering all five characters can take up to ten hours. Adding to the challenge, the last achievement in Mortal Kombat 1 is currently unattainable.
"The Mighty Have Fallen" achievement requires players to complete a Titan Battle, worth a modest 15 gamerscore on Xbox and a bronze trophy on PlayStation. Unfortunately, in the current version of the game, players have no information on what a Titan Battle is or how to complete it, preventing them from achieving 100% completion. It is likely that Titan Battles refer to content that is yet to be released for Mortal Kombat 1. The game is expected to receive a post-launch roadmap with additional content.
The game's decision to include an achievement related to Titan Battles in its main achievement list suggests that these battles will likely be introduced in the near future. Titan Battles are expected to be large-scale fights against formidable enemies, and it is possible that a new Titan Battle will accompany each major content update. The upcoming Season 2 content for Mortal Kombat 1, scheduled for release in the coming months, seems like a logical time for the addition of Titan Battles. In order to avoid having an incomplete achievement list for an extended period of time, it is likely that NetherRealm Studios will prioritize ensuring that perfectionists can attain 100% completion in the game. Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X/S.
