Unleash Your Inner Warrior: Mortal Kombat 1 Stress Test Commences!

Mortal Kombat 1's highly anticipated online stress test is currently in progress as chosen players take on the thrilling fighting game before its official release this autumn

NetherRealm is currently hosting a stress test for the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1. This gives a select group of players the opportunity to experience the upcoming fighting game throughout the entire weekend. After much speculation and rumors, NetherRealm officially announced the next installment of the legendary Mortal Kombat series in May. Mortal Kombat 1 serves as a continuity reboot, where the newly empowered Fire God Liu Kang utilizes Kronika's reality-altering Hourglass to create a peaceful new timeline. However, the return of Shang Tsung forces Liu Kang and his allies back into battle once again.

During this month's Summer Game Fest, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon showcased more of Mortal Kombat 1 and discussed some of its exciting new features. While the game will still deliver the brutal and bloody fighting action that fans have come to love, Mortal Kombat 1 introduces a fresh twist with the inclusion of Kameo Fighters. These supporting fighters can be summoned to assist players during a match. While the majority of fans will have to wait until the official release of Mortal Kombat 1 in September, a fortunate few will have the opportunity to enter the blood-soaked arena a bit earlier.

The special Mortal Kombat 1 stress test, which was announced by the official Mortal Kombat Twitter account, is currently taking place this weekend. Participants who received codes yesterday can now experience Mortal Kombat 1 until June 26 at 11 AM Eastern Time (or 8 AM Pacific).

Prior to the distribution of the codes, the development team at NetherRealm discovered an unspecified issue during testing. However, they were able to quickly resolve the issue. This stress test focuses on evaluating the online functionality of Mortal Kombat 1, allowing players to engage in 1v1 matches against each other and play a limited version of the game's Klassic Towers mode against AI-controlled opponents. It should be noted that this stress test is not available on Nintendo Switch or PC, and there is no cross-platform support on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The release of Mortal Kombat 1 is highly anticipated, and the feedback gathered from the recent stress test over the weekend has the potential to further enhance the game before its official launch in September. In the meantime, a select group of fans can get a glimpse of the intense combat that awaits when the warriors of Earthrealm return to the battlefield this autumn.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to be released on September 19, 2023, for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
