Marvel Snap offers an exciting experience with its rotating card skins and the potential for new rewards as players progress through collection levels. Matches are quick to play, leading to the temptation of instantly hitting the 'play' button after completing one. Betting Cosmic Cubes adds to the thrill when the odds are favorable. However, earning in-game currencies through frequent play is challenging, creating an inherent issue in progression.
Whether players are aiming to complete seasonal or regular daily challenges, there are limited opportunities to earn credits. Fortunately, Marvel Snap doesn't require any in-game 'energy' or additional resources to continue playing matches. However, if there are no available mission challenges, players cannot earn credits. This discourages consecutive play and encourages waiting for new missions to become available or resorting to microtransactions. While seasons may need to last a while, Marvel Snap can enhance player engagement by smoothing out the progression system.
Marvel Snap’s Collection Levels Should Award More Than 50 Credits
To address this issue, a possible solution would be to increase the credit rewards in the collection level tree. Currently, the collection level tree only provides credits in increments of 50, which is only sufficient for two Uncommon upgrades and half of one Rare upgrade.
However, players must first spend enough credits on upgrades to be eligible for these rewards in the collection level tree. Consequently, if players do not have enough credits from missions to obtain upgrades, the progression in the collection level tree is minimal. In such cases, players will have to reach numerous levels in order to accumulate a substantial number of credits once again.
If there were a sufficient number of credits for each associated collection level, players would be motivated to persist in grinding through challenges. However, the challenges are transient, causing players to eventually set aside Marvel Snap for an extended period while waiting for the game's features to cycle back and replenish.
Marvel Snap’s Missions Leave Too Much Time Between Each Refill
By repopulating mission challenges at a quicker pace, Marvel Snap could greatly enhance players' involvement in the continuous advancement of their card collection. Consequently, this would enable a consistent flow of card upgrades. Naturally, Marvel Snap's profitability relies heavily on microtransactions, making it advantageous for the game to maintain this dependence.
However, extending Season Passes for a whole month forces players to wait for a significant period before they can engage in mission challenges. Although Season Pass XP can be earned by playing matches alone, it only provides a small amount of progress. The majority of progress in a Season Pass stems from completing seasonal weekly challenges.
Unfortunately, during the one-week wait for the next set of challenges, players experience a decline in progression. This issue would be tolerable if there were more challenges in each chapter increment, but they are relatively quick to complete. Unless a seasonal challenge requires the completion of difficult daily challenges, players have no other means to progress and earn credits, leading to even longer waiting times.
