MAJOR SPOILERS FOR FINAL FANTASY 16 AHEAD

A compelling fan theory suggests that Kihel, known as Medicine Girl in Final Fantasy 16, could be the dormant Dominant of Leviathan, the enigmatic Eikon in Valisthea. While all the other Eikons play crucial roles in this captivating game, Leviathan, commonly referred to as Leviathan the Lost, remains shrouded in mystery. The reasons behind Leviathan's disappearance and why its Dominant has yet to awaken are undisclosed, but potentially concealed within Kihel lies the key to unlocking these long-awaited answers.

There are two compelling aspects to this fan theory surrounding Final Fantasy 16. Fans, like Twitter user Aubrey, have astutely observed that the arrangement of Eikons on the mural may offer insight into their relationships with their Dominants and each other. For instance, Ifrit and Phoenix clearly form Ifrit Risen due to the bond between Clive and Joshua. Odin's placement at the bottom of the mural suggests his association with darkness, while Garuda, Ramuh, and Titan are depicted closely together, signaling the link between their Dominants. Notably, Leviathan and Bahamut are positioned in close proximity on the right side, possibly indicating the connection between Kihel and Dion.

Furthermore, it has been discovered that the Medicine Girl in Final Fantasy 16, who had her true identity concealed for quite some time, has a name related to water. As pointed out by Twitter user Sai Fox, Kihel derives from Kiehl or Kiel, which translates to "born of a land of the waters/flood." This term holds significant ties to ships, and as noted by Aubrey and Sai Fox, the city of Kiel is situated along a narrow bay.

It can be inferred that the Medicine Girl, considering the meaning of her name and her connection with Dion, is meant to be the current Dominant of Leviathan. However, she has not yet awakened her powers related to Leviathan, despite the events in Twinside in Final Fantasy 16. It is uncertain whether she will ever awaken these powers or explain why they have been dormant for so long.

There is a possibility that Square Enix could address this in a future DLC for Final Fantasy 16, although no announcements have been made thus far. Prior to the game's release, producer Yoshi-P stated that the focus was on delivering a complete package and that DLC would only be considered if there was demand from fans. Considering the positive reception and commercial success of Final Fantasy 16, the likelihood of DLC being released is higher, but Leviathan is just one of many potential options for such content.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now for PS5.
