A recent Genshin Impact leak has provided further details about a diving feature that will be included in the upcoming 4.0 update. During the Special Program for update 3.7, developer HoYoverse unveiled a teaser for the Fontaine region, showcasing one of the main characters, Aether, diving deep underwater. This mechanic is a new addition to the game, introducing an exciting element of gameplay. It appears that with each major update, HoYoverse strives to introduce unique features to enhance the Genshin Impact experience. Update 4.0, for instance, introduced the highly anticipated Dendro element, revolutionizing the character meta by introducing a plethora of new elemental reactions and enhancing combat diversity.

The recent live stream event for Genshin Impact 3.8 unveiled a captivating Fontaine teaser, offering a glimpse of the upcoming locations. Additionally, the event showcased the Traveler adventuring through the submerged areas of Teyvat. A recent leak for Genshin Impact has provided more insight into the mechanics of underwater exploration. As per the leak, players will possess a unique form of "underwater stamina," potentially resembling the bar that appears when the Anemo user Wanderer ascends in the air using their Elemental Skill. Notably, this new stamina can be replenished by remaining stationary in the water, eliminating the need for swimmers to resurface for refreshment.

This represents a significant departure from Genshin Impact's current swimming mechanics, wherein characters drown once their stamina depletes, and stamina cannot be replenished by standing still. Players will have the ability to utilize the sprinting button to swim faster and the jumping key to reach the water's surface. The leak has also confirmed the inclusion of underwater combat, which has sparked excitement among numerous players.

Different types of attacks underwater can be performed by players by either tapping or holding their Normal Attack button. However, it is unlikely that they will be able to utilize their regular Elemental Skills and Bursts while diving. There is speculation among fans about whether this new mechanic can be used in various regions or if it is exclusive only to the new Hydro nation.

Enhancing the overall exploration experience of the game would involve revisiting a significant portion of the Teyvat map that is currently submerged in water. Previous rumors about Genshin Impact have hinted at the existence of underground dungeons in the Cider Lake surrounding the main city of Mondstadt.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
