Bungie has announced that Crota's End, a classic raid from Destiny 1, will be making its return to Destiny 2 this year. This exciting news was disclosed during the recent Destiny 2 showcase, which also provided more insights into Season 22 and The Final Shape expansion. Bungie's decision to reintroduce beloved raids from the first game into Destiny 2 began with the revival of Vault of Glass during Season of the Splicer. Following suit, King's Fall made its comeback last year during Season of Plunder. Now, Bungie has unveiled Crota's End as the raid being brought back for this year's Season 22.

Bungie has announced Destiny 2 Season of the Witch, which will introduce new abilities for The Guardians and feature the Hive God Xivu Arath for the first time. This season will also see the return of Crota's End on September 1, 2023.

The recent showcase also unveiled the release date for Destiny 2: The Final Shape DLC on February 27, 2024. In this DLC, Guardians will explore The Traveler and gain insights into the game's lore. The Final Shape will also introduce a new enemy type known as Subjugators, who possess Stasis and Strand powers. It is unclear at this time if these Subjugators are similar to the Tormentors introduced in Lightfall, but they appear to provide support to enemy factions by Freezing or Suspending Guardians. Another exciting detail revealed in the showcase is the inclusion of a revamped Vanguard Tower from Destiny 1 in the Final Shape expansion.

In addition, Bungie shared further information regarding Season of the Witch in Destiny 2. This upcoming season will unveil new Artifact Mods as well as introduce captivating sandbox features known as Elemental Orbs. Players will embark on a mission to establish communication with Savathun, while witnessing the transformation of Eris Morn into a Hive entity in support of the Vanguard.
