Highlights
Xur has returned to Destiny 2 with new exotic and legendary gear for a limited time including the Lord of Wolves shotgun.
Warlocks can acquire the Vesper of Radius, Hunters obtain the Gwisin Vest, and Titans have the option to equip the An Insurmountable Skullfort helm.
Xur can be located at Watcher's Grave on Nessus, where players have the opportunity to accomplish quests, earn a cipher, and procure exotic and legendary gear in exchange for legendary shards and glimmer.
Xur has returned once again to Destiny 2, offering players a selection of new exotic and legendary gear for a limited time. As the Season of the Witch approaches its end, Bungie has reminded players that there are a few remaining tasks to complete, including the highly anticipated return of the Festival of the Lost event. During this Halloween-inspired event, players will have the opportunity to participate in Haunted Sectors and earn special Eerie Engrams, which can be focused to unlock unique and exotic rewards from Eva Levante.
Moving beyond the festival, the main storyline of the Season of the Witch has concluded, with Eris Morn's conflict against Xivu Arath mostly resolved. However, some fans were left unsatisfied with the way Bungie chose to wrap up the story. Many of the major revelations seemed to occur "off screen" in the accompanying lore book called Rites of Passage, leaving fans confused as to why they were not included in the final cutscene.
Where is Xur?
Plan Your Weekend with Xur in Destiny 2 - October 13, 2023Over this weekend, players should head to Watcher's Grave on Nessus to find the merchant up the massive tree towards the back of the zone.
Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Head over to Nessus and make your way to Watcher's Grave as instructed by the Director. Once you have arrived, head towards the rear of the area where you will come across a magnificent tree. Begin jumping upwards until you stumble upon a substantial branch where the merchant can be found leisurely hanging out.
Xur still fulfills his role of offering weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. These quests are essential not only for purchasing a second fated engram but also for obtaining legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. By completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches, players can earn a new cipher. Additionally, playing with clan mates or taking on more challenging activities will earn bonus points. Going beyond his typical offerings, Xur now sells Legendary Weapons and Armor for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.
Exotic Armor
Vesper of Radius - Warlock chest armor
Exotic Perk:
The Planetary Torrent is an exotic that releases Arc shockwaves in regular intervals. When the shockwaves result in a final blow, they create an Arc explosion. When using an Arc subclass, both the shockwaves and explosions have a blinding effect on nearby targets. Furthermore, the recharge rate of Rift energy increases when the player is surrounded by targets. While it is certainly a distinctive exotic for Warlocks this week, it may not be the most optimal choice in terms of functionality and usefulness. It can be enjoyable to experiment with but is not a necessary purchase.
Stat Values (65 Total):
Mobility +9
Resilience +8
Recovery +16
Discipline +10
Intellect +16
Strength +6
Gwisin Vest - Hunter chest armor
Exotic Perk:
The Roving Assassin perk allows the player to regain additional Super energy with each kill made using Spectral Blades before entering stealth. Unfortunately, Xur's inventory this week includes the Gwisin Vest with a disappointing roll, making it less desirable for Spectral Blade Hunters.
Stat Values (63 Total):
Mobility +12
Resilience +16
Recovery +7
Discipline +2
Intellect +11
Strength +15
An Insurmountable Skullfort - Titan helmet
Exotic Perk:
The Transfusion Matrix is an excellent exotic helmet for Striker titans, allowing them to regenerate health and replenish melee energy when they eliminate enemies with Arc melee abilities. While the roll is only decent, the low resilience stat may require players to equip a mod to increase their overall resilience.
Stat Values (65 total):
Mobility +7
Resilience +3
Recovery +25
Discipline +8
Intellect +7
Strength +15
Exotic Weapon
Earlier in the lifecycle of Destiny 2, the Lord of Wolves shotgun gained immense popularity due to a bug that made it exceptionally potent at obliterating enemies. Although Bungie permitted the gun to dominate the Crucible for a longer duration than intended, its formidable presence has significantly diminished. Nonetheless, it remains a formidable weapon for close quarters combat and warrants consideration for those who have yet to acquire it.
The weapon possesses an intrinsic perk known as Shrapnel Launcher, enabling it to discharge a formidable, close-range burst of solar damage. However, the true augment to its effectiveness lies within the Release the Wolves trait. By simply pressing and holding the reload button, players have the ability to switch to a lengthier yet more potent burst.
