Continuing from the Hideaway, Clive resumes his mission to track down Hugo Kupka in the main scenario quest of Final Fantasy 16. Despite successfully weakening Kupka, Clive was unable to deliver the final blow. Fully aware of the danger Kupka poses, Clive, with the support of his uncle and Torgal, follows a lead that takes them towards Drake's Fang.
As Clive sets off on his journey, he embarks on a search for an old associate of Cid's named Ruzena Dalimil. However, locating this ally is just the beginning of the challenges that await in the quest titled "Riddle of the Sands". Final Fantasy 16 players can anticipate a range of exciting encounters and events as they dive into this new chapter.
This walkthrough contains spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.
Go to the Dalimil Inn
In the opening section of "Riddle of the Sands," players will find themselves navigating a vast desert. This expanse offers a greater sense of openness compared to previous areas in Final Fantasy 16, providing both formidable adversaries to engage in combat with and valuable items to discover. Proceed through the remnants of the fallen structures and head south towards the indicated red waypoint. A cutscene will be triggered upon reaching the Dalimil Inn, followed by a brief battle against feeble foes and yet another cinematic sequence. Afterward, continue southward until encountering a gate obstructing further progress.
Find Ruzena Dalimil
Clive believes that the most effective method to bypass the heavily guarded gate is by seeking assistance from Ruzena Dalimil. In order to acquire more information, approach two townspeople who are indicated by a red waypoint. Subsequently, proceed to the red waypoint to engage in conversation with another villager. Once you have gathered valuable information, make your way to the baths and talk to Ferda to advance the storyline. Journey towards the location designated by the red waypoint to initiate a cutscene followed by a battle against a group of adversaries. After concluding the battle, continue following the red waypoint towards the Lock of Leisure to trigger yet another cutscene.
Follow the Crystals
L'ubor, formerly known as Ruzena Dalimil, requests a favor as a gesture of gratitude for his assistance. Approach the three NPCs indicated by the red waypoint to gather sufficient information. Afterward, engage in conversation with the woman positioned outside the inn, and ascend the exterior stairs to locate Byron. Upon reaching the top of the staircase, veer left twice to locate Byron's whereabouts. Engage in dialogue with him and then proceed to follow the red waypoint outside the Desert Gate, which will lead to the designated meeting spot. Utilizing a chocobo for transportation is highly recommended due to the considerable distance from the town.
At the designated meeting spot, a short cinematic will unfold prior to players engaging in combat against a faction of adversaries. Prioritize addressing the casters, as they will endeavor to bestow healing upon their comrades. Once the cutscene concludes, proceed towards the southern gateway.
Head to Drake's Fang
Once the gate is opened, players in Final Fantasy 16 are granted the freedom to advance towards their primary objective. A series of cutscenes will unfold during their journey. Upon completion of these cutscenes, the expansive world map will become accessible. Players can embark on the next main scenario quest by heading to Drake's Fang.
