Hanagaki Takemichi successfully saved Hinata Tachibana by putting a stop to Kisaki Tetta. Although the conclusion of Tokyo Revengers season 3 may have appeared sudden, it coincided with the completion of the Tenjiku Arc. As a result, the anime concluded its adaptation as faithfully as possible.
Takemichi returns to the future to see the result of his actions, but this occurs sometime after the start of the Bonten Arc. The Tenjiku Arc concluded in chapter 185 of the manga, and in chapter 192, Takemichi returns to the future. In the future, he attends Pah-chin's wedding with Hinata, confirming that he has indeed saved her.

The conclusion of Tokyo Revengers season 3 saw Takemichi struggling with the thought of Kisaki's demise. Despite his original mission to eliminate Kisaki during the Tenjiku Arc time leap, Takemichi appeared to have a difficult time accepting his nemesis's accidental passing.
Later in the Bonten Arc, the reason behind this scene is revealed. Despite his intense hatred for Kisaki, Takemichi is astonished to learn that Kisaki is just an ordinary human without any time-leaping ability. It's impressive to Takemichi how Kisaki managed to achieve so much through his intellect and bravery, despite his physical weakness. This realization fuels Takemichi's desire to confront Kisaki once again.
Further, no matter how much he hated him, the truth remained that Takemichi knew Kisaki. Hence, seeing him pass away as grotesquely as he did, affected the former deeply.

Despite Takemichi's successful efforts to save Hinata Tachibana in the past, not everyone's future turned out bright. Upon returning to the present, Takemichi learned that Mikey was supposedly working at a restaurant overseas. However, in reality, he had risen to become the leader of Japan's largest crime syndicate, Bonten.
When Takemichi learned about the same, he decided to go back to the past and learn from Mikey about the reason why things turned out this way. That's how the Bonten Arc begins in Tokyo Revengers.
