Version 3.0 of Genshin Impact unveiled the stunning region of Sumeru, accompanied by one of the most aggravating hidden achievements to date. Called The Lengthy Reunion, this concealed accomplishment entails the player's task of tracking a non-aggressive sumpter beast from Vissudha Field in Sumeru to Ashavan Realm, also situated in Sumeru. As the name suggests, this achievement is notably time-consuming compared to others of its kind, and there exist numerous external variables beyond the player's control that can hinder progress. Completing The Lengthy Reunion hidden achievement not only rewards the player with 5 Primogems, similar to most other achievements, but also grants an additional Exquisite Chest.

To get started, make your way to the Statue of the Seven situated at the heart of Vissudha Field. The statue is positioned between Sumeru City and the Lost Nursery. From this point, descend the hill in the direction of the nearby path leading southeast. Keep an eye out for the Sumpter Beast that needs to be tracked down. Be cautious, as there are Rishboland Tigers lurking in the vicinity.

Following the Sumpter Beast: The Lengthy Reunion

Following the Sumpter Beast will require a considerable amount of time and patience. It is crucial to avoid falling too far behind, as doing so will cause the beast to reappear, forcing players to start from the beginning. Make certain that you are adequately prepared to dedicate a significant amount of time to closely tracking the beast. The creature will not exhibit aggression towards players unless provoked by an attack. In the unfortunate event of accidentally slaying the beast, players will need to wait for it to regenerate, which takes approximately 12 hours, before attempting the pursuit once again.

After trailing the Sumpter Beast for a brief period, players will observe its path intersecting a band of adversaries. It is worth noting that the adversaries will not pose any threat to the Sumpter Beast. However, caution must be exercised by players to prevent undue proximity, as these enemies will attack them instead. Therefore, players are left with the choice of either evading the enemies altogether or confronting them head-on.

To effectively handle the Sumpter Beast, the player should consider defeating the seven enemy groups along the way. It is advised to clear out these enemies before embarking on the hike with the beast. Alternatively, if players choose to avoid the enemies, they should stay out of their attack range but still remain close enough to the Sumpter Beast to prevent it from disappearing. However, caution is necessary.

When engaging in combat while accompanying the Sumpter Beast, players should be cautious about their choice of characters. It is recommended to avoid using characters with wide-area attacks (such as Ganyu and Yanfei) or those with random targeting abilities (such as Tighnari, Yoimiya, Fischl, and Yae Miko), as they may accidentally harm the Sumpter Beast. The journey will involve encountering Eremites, Treasure Hoarders, Fungi, and possibly a Withering Zone if it has not been cleared beforehand.

If the player has not yet cleared the Withering Zone that the Sumpter Beast traverses, it is important to note that it may become hostile. In such an event, it is advised not to panic or attempt to slay the creature. Instead, patiently await its de-aggravation, and the journey will resume.

The Ending of the Sumper Beast's Journey: The Lengthy Reunion

Upon reaching the journey's end, the Sumpter Beast will be returned to its owner in the Ashavan Realm. The owner awaits in an Eremite camp teeming with enemies, requiring players to be prepared to confront the camp while ensuring the safety of the Sumpter Beast.

While defeating the owner would theoretically conclude the journey and reward some players with the chest and achievement, there is a notable likelihood that the owner may not appear! In fact, this glitch occurred during the preparation of this guide. Unfortunately, the only options at this point are to start anew by either returning to the Statue of the Seven or by eliminating the Sumpter Beast and patiently awaiting its revival. There is no available information regarding the cause of this glitch, but it underscores The Lengthy Reunion as one of the most challenging hidden achievements in Genshin Impact.
