Unlock the Thrills: Battle it Out for Free in CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer, but Beware the Catch!

Activision has announced that players will have the opportunity to experience Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer for free during Season 5. From September 13-20, gamers can explore the multiplayer mode, although there will be restrictions on the available playlists and time limits. The free multiplayer content offers a range of playlists, including Shipment 24/7 and Ground War modes, among others. Additionally, newcomers can choose from standard core modes, hardcore, and party modes. They will even have access to some of Season 5's new content, such as the DRC — Zone 1 map and Havoc game mode.

Unlocking Free Access to MP Maps

In addition to the popular maps like Shipment, Shoot House, Dome, Farm 18, Mercado Las Almas, Embassy, Vondel Waterfront, Punta Mar, and Strike, players can now enjoy free access to other standard maps. However, there's a catch - the free access is limited to 2.5 in-match hours. Don't worry though, this limit only applies to actual gameplay time and doesn't include menu browsing.

Carry Forward Program: Reap the Benefits

For those who decide to purchase Modern Warfare 2, there's a special treat. Almost all your hard-earned weapons, operators, and cosmetics can be carried over to Modern Warfare 3 through Call of Duty's new Carry Forward program. So, get ready to dominate the battlefield with your trusted gear!

The free multiplayer week will start on September 13th at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and conclude on September 20th at the same time. The file sizes may differ depending on the platform, so Activision recommends players to visit their preferred platform for detailed information.
