Upon returning to the Ironworks

Although Clive successfully saved his allies during the previous main scenario quest in Final Fantasy 16, he and his companions were helpless in aiding the devastated Free Cities of Kanver. Adding to their troubles, Barnabas arrives and proves to be overpowering for Clive. Despite the unfavorable outcome of the battle, Gav and Joshua manage to extract Clive while Jill bravely defends the front line.

Clive, along with his allies, collaborates in efforts to locate a means to apprehend Barnabas and his flagship while Jill remains held captive. However, Mid's vessel lacks a crucial component necessary for attaining the required speed to catch up. Below is a preview of what players of Final Fantasy 16 can anticipate when embarking on the main scenario quest, "A Song of Hope." Speak to Otto

In the Hideaway, like many main scenario quests, players must find Otto and speak with him. Before doing so, it's advisable to visit Charon and Blackthorne. Charon sells powerful armor such as Rune Crescents, Rune Belt, and Rune Blade. Blackthorne can further enhance these pieces of gear. In addition, Blackthorne offers a recipe for the Sons of Ouroboros, a potent set of vambraces that requires one Orichalcum, one Stained Loincloth, and one Morbol Flower.

There are also several new side quests available for players to undertake. For those seeking an additional challenge, there are Notorious Marks that can be hunted and defeated. When ready to progress the story, speak to Otto in the Mess. Otto informs Clive that anything belonging to Cid would have been passed down to his daughter, Mid. Proceed towards Mid's workshop.

First, examine the stack of books on the left followed by the small satchel on the table to the right. Then, proceed to inspect the statue located on the shelf between the first two items that can be examined. After that, return to Otto and engage in a conversation with him regarding the search. Finally, make your way to the orchestrion in order to initiate a cutscene. Interact with the orchestrion and discover a peculiar object entangled in the gears.

Once the cutscene concludes, a new side quest titled "Blacksmith's Blues III" will become available. This quest, the third installment involving Blackthorne, offers players the recipe to create the Ouroboros belt as a reward. Additionally, there is another side quest called "Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol?" which grants players increased efficiency with consumables upon its completion.

Return to the Ironworks

After progressing through the main story, access the world map and navigate to the Ironworks. This action will initiate a cutscene and allow Mid's pride and joy, the Enterprise, to set sail and pursue Barnabas's flagship. However, before moving forward, there is a minor obstacle to address. A large group of enemies has discovered the Ironworks' location and launched an attack.

Defeat multiple waves of enemies, leading to a cutscene, followed by a battle against several duplicates of a boss previously defeated in the main scenario quest. Fortunately, these clones are weaker versions of the formidable Sleipnir faced earlier and can be easily overcome. The challenge lies in their sheer numbers attacking simultaneously. Continue battling until a cutscene is triggered, signifying the commencement of the next main scenario quest.

Final Fantasy 16 is available now on PlayStation 5.
