How to Speak with the Dead in Baldur’s Gate 3
Players in Baldur's Gate 3 can communicate with deceased NPCs through various means, all of which require the use of a specific spell.
The Speak with Dead spell enables Necromancers and Clerics to converse with the deceased, while other classes will require specific spell scrolls or items to achieve this ability. Now, let's explore the different methods of obtaining the Speak with Dead spell:
To obtain the Necromancy of Thay book, players need to navigate to the Secret Cellar and uncover its location by interacting with the ornate mirror. Once inside, they can retrieve the book.
Alternatively, players can acquire the Speak with Dead spell by obtaining the Amulet of Lost Voices. To do so, they must venture to the Dank Crypt, which is situated in close proximity to Ravaged Beach. The entrance to the crypt can be found near the Overgrown Ruins waypoint. The amulet can be found inside a chest in one of the rooms within the crypt. Any character in possession of the Amulet of Lost Voices can utilize the Speak with Dead spell.
To revive a deceased individual, players have the ability to employ the Speak with Dead spell. Through this means, the dead can temporarily resurrect, granting the opportunity to inquire about five queries before returning to their lifeless state. Following the casting of this spell, players must retreat to their camp and engage in a Long Rest before attempting to utilize it once more.
It is important to note that the Speak with Dead spell cannot be cast on every non-player character, including entities like skeletons or NPCs that have endured irreparable harm. Moreover, certain corpses may exhibit unwillingness to engage in conversation with the player.
