Genshin Impact has announced the requirements for accessing the Fontaine region in the upcoming Version 4.0 update. This update will come almost a year after the Sumeru region was first made available, and players will need to progress in the story to reach Fontaine.

The final update for the Sumeru region, Genshin Impact Version 3.8, was released on July 5. This update introduced the Veluriyam Mirage, a mythical forested area with mini-games and secrets. Once Version 4.0 is released, the Veluriyam Mirage will no longer be accessible, and players will finally be able to explore the Fontaine region. The new update is expected to launch later this month, leaving players with only a few weeks to enjoy the mini-games, complete event quests, and unlock rewards in the Veluriyam Mirage.

The official Genshin Impact Twitter account provided an update on the requirements to enter the Fontaine region in Version 4.0. Players who have completed "Archon Quest Prologue: Act 3 Song of the Dragon and Freedom" will unlock the Realm of Farakhkert Teleport Waypoint in Sumeru. This waypoint is conveniently situated near the entrance to Fontaine, allowing for easy travel. Additionally, completing the "Archon Quest Chapter 3: Act 6 Caribert" grants access to the Fontaine Archon Quest. It is recommended to complete all the story quests in the Sumeru storyline before venturing into Fontaine. The progress of optional quests in Sumeru does not impact access to Fontaine.
