Larian Studios has released the fourth hotfix for Baldur's Gate 3, which brings numerous bug fixes, multiplayer improvements, and combat adjustments. Notably, Isobel's HP receives a significant bonus. Additionally, Larian is diligently working on a more extensive update for Baldur's Gate 3, encompassing over 1000 patches and adjustments.
Baldur's Gate 3 made its debut on PC on August 3, with ports scheduled for Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The turn-based RPG achieved tremendous success in the commercial realm, quickly ascending to the top of Steam's sales charts. The game has also garnered critical acclaim, earning the seventh-highest rating on Metacritic. However, even with its achievements, Baldur's Gate 3 is not without its fair share of bugs and balance issues that require resolution.
Larian issued its latest hotfix for Baldur's Gate 3 today, addressing multiple areas of concern such as preventing softlocks, enhancing multiplayer functionality, resolving scripting glitches, and fine-tuning combat mechanics. One notable alteration involves a modest boost to Isobel's HP. Isobel, a prospective companion within the game, is a crucial Half-Elf character who assumes a pivotal role during the second phase of the game. Her demise in battle possesses the potential to significantly disrupt gameplay progression. By granting her a few additional hit points, the risk of such an occurrence is diminished, provided the player is not actively attempting to eliminate her. Apart from these gameplay adjustments, the update primarily focuses on resolving various bugs.
The patch addresses a problem in Baldur's Gate 3 where characters would vanish in split screen mode. Additionally, it improves the visibility of multiplayer servers in the GOG release. Now, hosts are warned when additional players join during character creation and they have the authority to approve drop-in players.
Furthermore, the hotfix resolves several bugs that could potentially cause the game to become unplayable. Companions no longer risk remaining asleep after a Long Rest. The issue of the portal disappearing after a Long Rest in the Astral Prism has also been fixed. Other resolved softlocks include ensuring an important NPC remains in the correct location and fixing a scripting error that previously prevented players from loading a saved game.
