After fulfilling specific requirements in the main story and activating a waypoint, players are able to venture to Fontaine. In Fontaine, the introduction of innovative gadgets, like the Crystalfly Trap and Wind-Powered Wind Generator, greatly improve gameplay. These gadgets streamline the process of Crystalfly farming and enable players to swiftly ascend to higher grounds.

Genshin Impact has unveiled a sneak peek of the NPCs that players will encounter in Fontaine once Version 4.0 is launched. Additionally, new gadgets will be introduced to assist players in their adventures within the region. By fulfilling certain criteria in the game's main storyline, players can conveniently travel from the Sumeru region to Fontaine by utilizing a waypoint.

HoYoverse plans to release the Version 4.0 update, which follows the addition of the Sumeru region in Genshin Impact Version 3.0, approximately one year later. In Version 4.0, the Traveler and Paimon embark on a journey to Fontaine to gather information about the Hydro Archon Focalors and gather leads on the whereabouts of the Traveler's sibling.

HoYoverse recently released a new blog post on HoYoLab, providing a sneak peek of the upcoming features in Genshin Impact Version 4.0. Upon reaching Fontaine, players will have the opportunity to interact with both non-human Melusine NPCs and human NPCs, who will offer new side quests. While exploring the Court of Fontaine, the Traveler and Paimon will encounter Euphrasie, the chief editor of The Steambird publication. Euphrasie will introduce players to the reputation system in Fontaine, which enables them to unlock exciting rewards and gadgets, including a new glider known as the Crystalfly Trap and the Wind-Powered Wind Generator. The Crystalfly Trap simplifies the process of capturing Crystalflies by utilizing specific materials, while the Wind-Powered Wind Generator allows players to glide from any location.

The blog post also highlights the steps to enter the new region for the first time. All Genshin Impact players can access Fontaine by completing the Archon Quest Prologue and unlocking a Sumeru waypoint in the Realm of Farakhkert. Once teleported to the Realm of Farakhkert, players will find a nearby Waverider waypoint, which they can utilize to sail to Fontaine. Upon arrival, players will have the option to disembark at Romaritime Harbor, one of Fontaine's main ports.

In Genshin Impact Version 4.0, Fontaine's main city will be enriched with captivating new NPCs, providing players with an enhanced gaming experience through the introduction of innovative gadgets. One such gadget, the trap, simplifies the process of Crystalfly farming, making it significantly easier. Moreover, the Wind-Powered Wind Generator offers a convenient boost to players in exploring elevated areas expediently.

With the release of Genshin Impact Version 4.0 on August 16, players have only one week remaining to venture into the enchanting Veluriyam Mirage region and acquire exclusive rewards. However, once Version 4.0 becomes available, both Veluriyam Mirage and the majority of 3.8's content will be removed from the game.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
