The Fists of Fate is a fascinating Unique item that caters to all classes in Diablo 4. Commonly known as the Gacha Gloves, this piece of armor disregards caution completely, subjecting players to the ruthless unpredictability of RNG with potentially devastating consequences.
Interestingly, the concept of a Unique item relying entirely on luck is not as original as some players might imagine. Diablo 4 already incorporates numerous combat mechanics driven by randomness, and the Fists of Fate intensify them all. Below are some pointers on acquiring these gloves and suggested builds that complement their abilities.
How to Get the Fists of Fate
The Fists of Fate, like all Unique items, can only be acquired through random drops from enemies and chests. Completing Nightmare Dungeons may also yield random Unique items as rewards. It is unsure whether Purveyors of Curiosities offer any type of Unique items, so it may not be possible to target-farm these gloves from them.
When it comes to farming the Fists of Fate, spiders have a higher chance of dropping gloves compared to other types of monsters. They can be found almost anywhere in the overworld, but the most favorable location for farming them is Blind Burrows. The dungeon is predominantly filled with spiders, and there is typically a high density of them in the tunnels.
Please keep in mind that spiders have higher chances of dropping chest pieces, foci, and 2H swords. This means that the likelihood of obtaining gloves from them is not as high as anticipated by many players. Additionally, these creatures also drop other types of items, so be prepared for extensive farming.
It is worth noting that unique items begin to drop only when players reach World Tier 3 and beyond.
Best Fists of Fate Builds
These Unique gloves offer players a chance at incredible luck. They have the potential to significantly amplify Core Skills, making them up to three times more powerful, or drastically weaken them to just 1% damage. Remarkably, this effect is not categorized as a Lucky Hit effect, meaning it is not affected by proc coefficients.
Considering this, Fists of Fate are most effective when paired with builds that prioritize high attack speed or quick-hitting Core Skills, such as the Barbarian's Whirlwind, the Rogue's Rapid Fire, or the Sorcerer's Ice Shards. By attacking rapidly, players can maximize their chances of triggering the 300% damage procs, while minimizing the impact of the 1% procs.
Despite this, players should still consider investing in Lucky Hit Chance since the remaining affixes of Fists of Fate also revolve around Lucky Hit procs. These affixes present players with opportunities to Daze, Immobilize, heal, or replenish primary resources upon striking. Each of them has its own chance of activation, so it is reasonable to expect at least one of them to trigger consistently.
Effectively, the damage bonus of Fists of Fate functions as if the gloves possessed both Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage affixes. However, it is important to note that using these gloves comes with the drawback of lacking defensive statistics and being unable to grant additional levels to Core Skills. Therefore, it is imperative to keep these limitations in mind when constructing a build centered around these gloves.
Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
