Final Fantasy 16 reigns supreme among gamers worldwide as they embark on a thrilling hack 'N' slash adventure. Players embody Clive Rosfield, a former prince of Rosaria now enslaved by the empire of Sanbreque in the vast kingdom of Valisthea. Through a captivating journey of twists and revelations, players witness the immense burden borne by Clive. Along the way, Clive grows in strength with every battle, acquiring unique abilities by vanquishing each dominant foe.
The game's narrative revolves around eight dominants who possess astonishing power derived from god-like entities known as Eikons. These Eikons, namely Odin, Titan, Shiva, Garuda, Bahamut, Ifrit, Ramuh, and Phoenix, bestow their blessings upon the dominants. By harnessing these Eikons, Clive gains access to an array of abilities, which can be upgraded and combined across different skill trees. By finding the perfect combination, players can execute devastating attacks that decimate bosses and adversaries alike, leaving their health bars utterly obliterated.
8 Garuda And Phoenix
Garuda and the Phoenix are among the initial ability trees that players can unlock in Final Fantasy 16's story. Clive has already mastered the abilities of the Phoenix, such as the Phoenix Shift and Heatwave attacks.
Although Garuda becomes available later in the story, it empowers Clive with the ability to restrain enemies using a grapple and even evade attacks that can cause significant damage with a counter. The innate combos of the Phoenix Eikon tree often send enemies airborne. By combining these attacks with the Garuda tree's grapple ability, players can extend their combos even further.
7 Phoenix And Bahamut
6 Titan And Odin
It can be confidently stated that the Phoenix tree will be the primary choice for players in terms of combat within the game, eventually becoming instinctual. Once players progress further and unlock the Bahamut tree, it might initially divide opinions due to its emphasis on long-range abilities. However, the Phoenix Eikon possesses the capability to swiftly approach enemies and even offers a few ranged options of its own. The Satellite ability, when combined with action combos and Rising Flames, has the potential to significantly weaken an enemy's stagger bar.In Final Fantasy 16, Titan and Odin stand out as incredibly powerful and indispensable Eikon classes. Titan possesses a remarkable innate counter, resulting in devastating stagger damage and an ability to halt time altogether. This enables players to consistently utilize Titan's disruptive capabilities against enemy attacks. On the other hand, the Odin Eikon class also possesses a time-stop ability but requires initial contact to activate it.
Using the Titan Raging Fists counter effectively at the enemy's mid-way stagger point opens up an opportunity to unleash the stun and execute the powerful move, Dancing Steel. This not only inflicts additional stagger damage but also contributes to filling up the Zanketsu bar. It proves particularly beneficial when the enemy is fully staggered.
5 Shiva And Titan
When it comes to enhancing Eikon's abilities that complement each other, Shiva and Titan might not be the most obvious choice. However, the intricate combat system of Final Fantasy 16 allows for the creation of synergies using various abilities from both trees. Shiva's role in the Eikon tree revolves around crowd control, primarily through her formidable ability known as Cold Snap. Besides granting Clive greater maneuverability, Cold Snap has the potential to permanently freeze minor targets. This creates the perfect opportunity to unleash devastating attacks from Titan, such as Wind Up and Earthen Fury, on those frozen foes.
4 Garuda And Titan
Garuda and Titan possess complementary abilities, creating a synergistic duo. With Garuda's grappling and Titan's charging skills, players can ensure successful connections by combining Titan's slower-hitting attacks for devastating damage. Notably, when upgraded and utilized mid-air, Garuda's Deadly Embrace not only attacks with one of her Claws but also elevates Clive to greater heights.
By activating this ability twice, Clive is lifted significantly high in the air, enabling a powerful combo with the aerial version of Upheaval. This devastating combination inflicts massive damage on any stunned target patiently awaiting below.
3 Odin And Shiva
Odin, an Eikon tree in Final Fantasy 16, holds a significant role in the game's storyline. Not only is Odin formidable, but unlocking this character also bestows Clive with an entirely new combo route and enhanced mobility. Shiva, on the other hand, possesses the remarkable ability to disrupt enemies with her Ice Age attack, effectively launching them into the air or extending combos using basic attacks.
The strategic use of Shiva's Cold Snap, Odin's Rift Slip, or Heaven's Cloud can initiate elaborate and damaging combos. By interchanging abilities between Odin and Shiva, players have a vast array of options to explore, regardless of their chosen main Eikon tree.
2 Ramuh And Ifrit
Ramuh, the third Eikon players unlock in the captivating lore of Final Fantasy 16, offers a thrilling glimpse into the grand scheme. This majestic ruler of lightning boasts a vast array of devastating abilities, with some of the most impressive power levels in the game.
Although acquiring the abilities from the Ifrit Eikon tree is a slower process compared to the others, once obtained, both Ifrit and Ramuh become an unbeatable duo. By cleverly combining the Lightning Rod and Ignition abilities, players can unleash a torrent of devastating strikes, maximizing their damage output. This synergy is particularly potent when utilizing the Limit Break mechanic.
1 Ramuh And Bahamut
Bahamut and Ramuh offer exceptional Eikon abilities for players who prefer a defensive playstyle, relying on a barrage of formidable spells to handle enemies from a distance. This allows them to avoid direct confrontation with formidable bosses. Bahamut's Wings Of Light is an extraordinary skill that grants protection against attacks while channeling immense magical energy into a devastating attack known as Megaflare.
Upon casting, beams of brilliant light will descend upon targets, creating opportunities for Clive to unleash additional abilities. Players can opt to pair it with any of Ramuh's abilities, including Thunderstorm or the imposing Judgment Bolt.
