Pokemon GO has announced a new event to introduce Zygarde to the game. Niantic continues to expand the Pokemon GO Pokedex each season, adding new creatures for players to discover. While the Pokedex is not yet complete, the game has made significant progress, currently reaching almost 80% completion.
Out of the nine generations of Pokemon games, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Unova have fully available Pokedexes in Pokemon GO. This means that players have a wide selection of starter Pokemon from these regions, as well as access to Legendary Pokemon like Raikou, Kyogre, Mewtwo, and even the Mythical Pokemon Shaymin. This year, the game has introduced even more Pokemon, including Turtonator, Mega Sableye, and Mega Rayquaza.
When does Zygarde debut in Pokemon GO?
Pokemon GO has announced the exciting Blaze New Trails event, scheduled to start on July 21 at 10 AM and end on July 24 at 8 PM local time. The highlight of this event is the much-awaited debut of Zygarde, a Legendary Gen 6 Pokemon known for its immense power. During the event, players will have the opportunity to encounter Zygarde in its 10% Forme, resembling a small dog. Additionally, there will be an increased number of encounters for Growlithe, Ponyta, Doduo, Lillipup, Blitzle, and Yungoos in the wild, giving players the chance to capture their shiny versions. Moreover, those who hatch 7km eggs will have the possibility of obtaining Rockruff, Skwovet, and Falinks, which also have the potential to be shiny.
Friday, July 21, 10 AM to Monday, July 24, 8 PM
The Blaze New Trails event marks the introduction of Pokemon GO's new Routes feature, which brings a beloved mechanic from the main series to Niantic's game. During the event, players are encouraged to share their favorite community locations and discover other trainers' preferred spots. By exploring Routes with a Buddy, players can earn Buddy Candy at a faster rate and have an increased chance of encountering a shiny Yungoos. Additionally, while exploring Routes, players can collect Zygarde Cells to alter Zygarde's form.
The debut of Zygarde adds to the roster of Legendary and Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon GO. This introduction of the Dragon/Ground-type creature alongside the launch of Routes is a strategic move by Niantic, as it entices players to explore the new feature and have a fresh experience playing Pokemon GO.
Pokemon GO is available for Android and iOS.
