Unleash the Classic Pokemon! Catch 'em All this July with Pokemon GO Community Day

Get ready for a nostalgic trip down memory lane in July's edition of Pokemon GO's Community Day Classic Niantic's latest announcement promises to bring back a fan-favorite Pokemon that players have been clamoring for, so mark your calendars and prepare to catch 'em all!

July's Community Day for Pokemon GO has been announced, with Squirtle taking the spotlight as the chosen Gen 1 starter for the second time. This exciting event is just one of many that the game offers, providing players with the opportunity to collect valuable items and catch rare Pokemon that are only available for a limited time. Community Day is highly anticipated by fans, as it shines a light on a specific Pokemon each month and often introduces new additions to the game. While these events are incredibly popular, they are also time-sensitive, making it easy for some players to miss out on the chance to capture the featured Pokemon.

To celebrate Pokemon GO's seventh anniversary, the July Community Day Classic will feature Squirtle, Pokemon No. 007. Squirtle had its own Community Day in 2018, making it one of the first editions of the event. During the three-hour event, Squirtle will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky players may even find the Water-type Pokemon in its shiny form. Those who evolve Wartortle into Blastoise during the event or in the two hours afterward will receive a Blastoise that knows Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.

In addition, the Community Day Classic will offer Squirtle-themed Field Research, where players who catch a Squirtle will earn an encounter with a Squirtle wearing sunglasses, paying homage to the Squirtle Squad from the Pokemon anime. As with previous Community Day events, players can buy a ticket for $1 or their local currency equivalent to access the Special Research story. Incense and Lure Modules activated during the event will have an extended duration, and players will need to travel a shorter distance to hatch their eggs. Finally, those who take snapshots during the event may even find some surprises.

The first installment of the new Pokemon GO season, titled Hidden Gems, is kicking off with July's Community Day Classic. This season has already introduced players to a plethora of exciting additions, including new events and the debut of never-before-seen Pokemon. One of the most highly anticipated events of the season is the annual Pokemon GO Fest 2023, hosted by Niantic. As the date draws near, more details about the festival and its features have been revealed. One of the biggest announcements is the release of the mythical Pokemon, Diancie, during the festival. With all these new and exciting developments, players can continue to enjoy the game on both Android and iOS platforms.
