Larian Studios recently revealed the top 20 multiclass combinations in Baldur's Gate 3, with the Rogue/Ranger combination earning the top spot. It is evident that certain builds in the game are superior to others, as demonstrated by the numbers.

Baldur's Gate 3 has emerged as one of the standout titles of 2023. One key factor contributing to its success is the seamless translation of the tabletop RPG experience into a video game, encompassing everything from rules to the game's most unpredictable elements. Multiclassing is a significant component of the Dungeons and Dragons experience that appeals to many players, and BG3 offers a comprehensive array of multiclassing options, allowing players to seamlessly blend any two classes.

Larian's recent report on the top 20 multiclass combinations in Baldur's Gate 3 unveils that the Rogue/Ranger combination is the most favored among gamers, with a usage of over 175,000 players. Close behind is the Barbarian/Fighter multiclass build, which was utilized by over 158,000 gamers. The other choices are considerably less popular, with only the Barbarian/Paladin and Cleric/Paladin combinations reaching over 100,000 players. The Paladin particularly stands out in multiclassing due to its powerful Smite ability, appearing in 8 out of the 20 most popular combinations.

These selections come as no surprise overall. Rangers and Rogues complement each other well, given their stealthy character types and proficiency with bows or dual wielding. Similarly, Barbarians and Fighters synergize easily in a Strength-based build. The popularity of Paladins is also to be expected, considering Larian's previous revelation that they were among the most favored classes and races in BG3, alongside Sorcerers and Warlocks. The only potential surprise is the relatively lower ranking of the renowned Sorcerer/Paladin combination, one of the tabletop version of D&D's most popular builds, with only 64,854 gamers utilizing it.

Upcoming updates for Baldur's Gate 3 may provide players with more choices, such as additional subclasses or even a completely new class. Currently, the game lacks the official Artificer class. In the meantime, Patch 3 has been released, addressing numerous bugs and introducing a Magic Mirror feature. This new addition allows players to alter their characters' appearance, voices, and pronouns whenever they please. Baldur's Gate 3 is currently playable on PC and PS5, with an Xbox Series X/S version currently in development.
