The Final Shape is likely to follow suit, but seasons also deliver impactful updates, with Bungie constantly balancing items and abilities. Destiny 2's Renewal Grasps Exotic Could Become Meta in Season 22

The Hunter's Renewal Grasps in Destiny 2 were highly sought after when they were first released. They offered excellent area denial abilities, team support, and increased survivability, which were typically strengths of the Warlock class. However, due to various issues in PvP, Bungie decided to nerf the Renewal Grasps. Unfortunately, these nerfs significantly weakened the item's effectiveness in PvP. Additionally, Bungie also increased the cooldown for Stasis Duskfield Grenades, making the Renewal Grasps practically obsolete. Reverting the item back to its usable state required significant investment in the build, often at the expense of other gameplay aspects. Prior to the nerf, the Renewal Grasps were highly regarded Exotics that enhanced builds, but afterward, they became almost unusable due to the substantial increase in the cooldown.

Fortunately, Bungie has recently released a Dev Insights post on its website, outlining the upcoming changes to the forgotten Exotics in Season 22 of Destiny 2. The Hunter's Renewal Grasps are being revisited by Bungie, undoing a previous nerf. This means that Hunters can now not only defend themselves and their team with Duskfield Grenades but also take advantage of the new tools introduced in recent updates. For instance, there have been several powerful Stasis weapons added since the time when Renewal Grasps were in the spotlight, making them even stronger now.

The noteworthy aspect is that players have the potential to combine Renewal Grasps with The Navigator Exotic trace rifle from Ghosts of the Deep, the latest Dungeon in the game. This Exotic bestows the Strand Woven Mail buff upon the user and their allies when they shoot a teammate, granting significant damage resistance for a brief period. When paired with Renewal Grasps and a build that allows players to spam grenades, Guardians can virtually become invincible in PvE content, particularly if they utilize damage mitigation mods and builds that achieve Tier 10 Resilience. Ultimately, the reversal of the Renewal Grasps nerf is fantastic news for Hunters, as it opens up more possibilities in the new PvE meta.
