The appearance is not an exact replica, but it effectively captures the essence of the renowned Halo weapon.

The Halo Battle Rifle has drawn inspiration from real-life firearms, some of which have already appeared in Call of Duty games, such as the FAMAS. In Modern Warfare 2, the FAMAS is now known as the FR Avenger.

Last year, Activision and Infinity Ward released the revamped Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with assistance from Treyarch, Raven Software, and other studios. This sequel to the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot introduced numerous enhancements to the game, including an improved Gunsmith system, enhanced enemy AI, realistic water physics, swimming mechanics, revamped vehicles, and updates to leveling and progression. Modern Warfare 2 also introduced Warzone 2.0, the second iteration of Call of Duty's cross-game battle royale mode.

The recent release of Season 5 in Modern Warfare 2 introduced the Carrack .300, a semi-automatic bullpup sniper rifle that bears some resemblance to weapons in the Halo universe. Quzga, a Reddit user and Warzone player, cleverly utilized the game's Gunsmith system to customize the Carrack .300. They equipped it with an extended magazine, replaced the wooden stock and foregrip with sleek black furniture, and added stylish blue highlights. To complete the Halo-inspired look, Quzga even included a "bootleg Cortana" using one of Modern Warfare 2's Gun Screens.

Although Quzga's rifle doesn't closely resemble any specific version of the iconic Halo Battle Rifle, it still captures the essence. Unlike the Carrack .300, which is semi-automatic, the Halo Battle Rifle fires in bursts. A more accurate comparison might be the DMR from Halo: Reach or its Bandit variant introduced in Halo: Infinite. Nevertheless, Quzga has successfully achieved an overall resemblance, highlighting the connection between these two popular game franchises.

Notably, the Halo Battle Rifle draws inspiration from real firearms that have been present in the Call of Duty series for quite some time. Bungie utilized various gun designs, such as the XM8, showcased in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and the FAMAS, which has appeared in multiple games since the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. It has made subsequent appearances in Call of Duty: Black Ops and the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot.

In the Season 5 Update, a variant of the FAMAS, known as the FR Avenger, is introduced to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. This offers Modern Warfare 2 players an alternative choice if they wish to emulate Quzga and recreate one of Halo's most iconic weapons.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
