Baldur's Gate 3 presents a perilous world, requiring players to utilize every advantage possible in order to triumph over their forthcoming battles. Engaging in quests proves to be an excellent means of acquiring valuable loot, with the quality of rewards escalating in line with the difficulty of the quest.
In the early stages of their Baldur's Gate 3 campaign, many players will receive the Rune of the Wolf as a reward. This invaluable item serves as the key to unlocking the treasure vault located within the Emerald Grove, home to the Druids. While the journey to reach this vault may perplex some, a comprehensive guide has been provided to assist in navigating this intricate maze.
Baldur's Gate 3: How to Get to the Druids' Vault
To begin, players should acquire the Rune of the Wolf. There are two ways to obtain it: by rescuing Halsin from the Goblin base or by taking it from Rath's pocket. The latter option is the quickest and most convenient, although it may not be the most morally upright. Once in possession of the rune, proceed to the Druid Grove Inner Sanctum and make your way to the Enclave Library, which can be identified by the large wolf statue.
Within the library, there is a stone pedestal with an empty socket. Interact with it to open a small window of action. Retrieve the Rune of the Wolf from the inventory of the chosen character and place it into the designated item box. Once the rune is securely placed, proceed to touch all of the pedestals within the Enclave Library in any desired order. This will activate each pedestal, causing them to radiate light. As a result, the Wolf statue will disappear, unveiling a hatch on the floor. Descend the spiraling staircase beyond the hatch, which leads to the vault.
Inside the vault, you'll find a variety of treasures hidden among the chests, crates, and vases. However, the most remarkable item in the room is a unique glaive called Sorrow, resting on a stone table. This powerful weapon grants its wielder the skill of Ensnaring Strike, causing thorny vines to assail and potentially ensnare targets. Any ensnared enemies suffer 1d6 Piercing Damage at the start of their turn, making them more vulnerable to attacks from the rest of the party.
Yet, Sorrow does come with a notable drawback. Each time the weapon strikes a target, the wielder will endure one point of Psychic Damage. While this may not be a significant concern for robust individuals like Barbarians or Paladins, it can prove catastrophic when the dice aren't in the player's favor. Exercise caution when choosing to wield this weapon.
Baldur's Gate 3 is available now on PC, with a PS5 version coming on September 6, 2023.
