In Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, players will encounter a fresh zone in Night City along with a challenging predicament for V. Following the successful rescue of the NUSA President from an assassination plot, players find themselves embroiled in a narrative of deception and political motives.

Birds With Broken Wings serves as the eighth mission in the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC, introducing complexity through the involvement of Songbird and Solomon Reed. Before rushing to save Songbird, players must address a number of preliminary tasks.

Birds With Broken Wings Guide

Upon completing the You Know My Name mission, V eagerly awaits Reed's call in Birds With Broken Wings. Within an in-game day, Reed will contact players, allowing them to utilize their time efficiently by concluding other quests or swiftly advancing by sleeping or using the options menu.

When the awaited call finally comes, Reed instructs players to rendezvous at The Moth, where Alex awaits inside the concealed bar hideout. It is at this point that players will have the opportunity to delve deeper into their shared history as FIA agents before embarking on the rescue mission.

To proceed, players must assume the identities of the Netrunners encountered at Hansen's party. The initial step involves obtaining the tracking details pertaining to the transportation of the twins. Following this, players are required to eliminate Hansen and successfully retrieve Songbird.

The only way to get the tracking information is to use the rental companies tracking stations. The one they are going after is located near the Pacifica Serenity Bible Church.

Meet Up With Songbird

After departing Alex's safehouse, players will be contacted by Songbird, who will request a rendezvous between the hours of 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM. She will also grant them additional Relic points. It is advisable to prioritize meeting with Songbird before utilizing the transceiver.

Songbird discloses her initial scheme and underlying motive for orchestrating President Myers' deception. The President and Hansen are exploiting her to gain entry into the Net beyond the Blackwall. Upon rescuing Songbird from Hansen, she implores V to allow her to flee, thereby enabling them to obtain the cure and freeing her from being a mere pawn. Following their conversation, V feels compelled to reach out to Reed and inform him about their encounter with Songbird.

Access the Tracking Station Transceiver

The initial transceiver can be found on the roof of Pacifica Serenity Bible Church. In order to access it discreetly, players can navigate around the Eldorado Pawn Shop and make their way to the rear of the church, eventually climbing up onto the roof.

Within the vicinity, there will be three guards positioned alongside the transceiver on the roof, as well as a few others scattered on the ground. Players have the option to eliminate them individually by utilizing the available floodlights to create diversions and disposing of them discreetly in nearby disposal units. Alternatively, players can choose to swiftly neutralize all individuals within the area.

Once all the guards have been dealt with, V must connect to the transceiver and retrieve its data. The information from one station alone is insufficient for their purposes, so Alex will transmit the navigation data for a second transceiver. Players who possess an Intelligence level of 11 or above have the ability to establish a remote link to the second transceiver.

Access the Second Tracking Station Transceiver

The second tracking station is located in Santo Domingo, providing players with the option to utilize the fast-travel terminal positioned near the church for convenience. However, it should be noted that this particular building is heavily guarded, leaving players with only two choices: sneak inside or engage in combat.

To access the roof, players can ascend the stairs on the side of the building that is closest to the transceiver. By utilizing the air ducts, they can make their way onto the roof. Upon reaching the rooftop, players may notice the presence of two children and a woman who are unconscious on a couch. While players have the option to disregard them and proceed to jack into the transceiver, it should be noted that the device is currently offline.

Luka, the blonde child, will inform them that in order to activate the transceiver, they need to locate and restart the power generator. V has the option to either buy his assistance for a sum of 1000 Eddies or venture out on their own to find the generator.

If they agree to accept Luka's assistance, they will engage in a game of hot or cold to locate it. The generator is in close proximity, and players can swiftly discover it by turning around and heading towards the side of the roof that is nearer to the billboard.

V must turn off the device to reset it and patiently wait for it to restart. Once the device is up and running, they have the option to download the second transceiver data. In the meantime, Reed will send a text message instructing V to patiently wait for his call, which will occur in a couple of hours. When Reed finally calls, he informs V about a contact he has for a Ripperdoc who can install the necessary technology for the behavioral implants.

Visit Alex at The Moth

Following Reed's phone call, players have the choice to answer a message from Alex, who invites them to The Moth for a drink. Participating in this is not mandatory, but it grants players access to intriguing revelations about Alex.

Despite Alex's flirty and honest personality and the opportunity for the pair to have a drink and dance together, it is important to note that Alex is not a character that can be pursued romantically. Nonetheless, players can still enjoy getting to know her and taking a temporary break from other aspects of the game.

Go to Farida's Clinic

When players are prepared to advance to the last stages of Birds With Broken Wings, they can find Farida's Clinic in the area of Golden Pacific. To gain entry, players must communicate with her using the intercom and specifically select the dialogue option, "I hear you collect souvenirs from the Unification War."

Reed, who has been patiently waiting, finally approaches V to share his well-thought-out alternative strategy. While Myers plans to apprehend Songbird once she is free from Hansen's control, Reed, on the other hand, is determined to assist her in evading capture.

He requests V to employ ICEbreaker, a technology that will incapacitate Songbird, enabling him to have a conversation with her when she is no longer in a vulnerable position. Additionally, V can disclose what Songbird communicated during their previous encounter.

After Reed's departure, players only need to have the Cyberware installed by Farida. Johnny will then show up, offering advice and insight on how to handle the impending choice between Songbird and Reed. To successfully complete the mission, players must leave the clinic once Farida has finished the installation.
