Ayer stated that the original opening of Suicide Squad focused on Enchantress. The director's version of the movie would have begun with a more extensive sequence showcasing Delevingne's June Moon discovering Enchantress, leading into the credits. However, in the final film, the June Moon/Enchantress scene is short and fails to fully establish the character.
Similar to the Joker and other characters in Suicide Squad (2016), Enchantress was negatively impacted by the studio's cuts to Ayer's original vision. The DC director has admitted that Delevingne's dual role would have been handled better in his version, stating, "Yes - Enchantress/June Moon were more thoroughly developed in my cut." If the Ayer cut of Suicide Squad ever sees the light of day, perhaps Enchantress can finally have her story redeemed after the theatrical version mishandled it.
