In Final Fantasy 16, the quality of RPG side quests can vary greatly. While some quests are captivating and demand strategic thinking and combat skills, others can be quite mundane, requiring only a few button presses to complete. Unfortunately, "Food for Thought" falls into the latter category.
Players unlock the "Food for Thought" side quest early on in Final Fantasy 16, shortly after arriving at Cid's Hideaway. Completing this quest requires minimal effort and does not require much strategic planning. However, the reward for completing "Food for Thought" is surprisingly generous, making it worthwhile for players to invest the small amount of effort needed.
How to Complete Food for Thought in Final Fantasy 16
"Food for Thought" becomes accessible during the "Hide, Hideaway" main storyline in Final Fantasy 16 after players receive the instruction to proceed to the Greatwood. To activate this event, players must interact with Kenneth, the owner of the Fat Chocobo diner. He will request Clive to deliver soup to three of his customers, a task that is straightforward and uncomplicated.
After accepting the quest, players will be provided with three servings of salt broth, which they must deliver to the three customers indicated by the yellow exclamation points. When near the designated patrons, players will be prompted to place the bowl in front of them. This can be done by holding down the X button for a brief moment. Once all three customers have been served, players can then return to Kenneth to claim their well-deserved reward.
Players who are satisfied with Clive's abilities as a waiter will be rewarded with 500 Gil, 5 XP, ten Wyrrite, and the chance to unlock Kenneth's treasure coffer. Located to the left of the bar, the coffer contains the Badge of Mettle accessory. Equipping this accessory enhances Clive's Defense stat by ten points. While it may become surpassed in the future, it will prove valuable during upcoming main story missions. Final Fantasy 16 can be played exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
