Bungie has unveiled exciting new activities for Destiny 2 Season of The Witch, known as "Altars of Summoning" and "Savathun's Spire." These were recently announced alongside details about the Final Shape DLC, a change in the content delivery model, and Bungie's future plans.

In Season of the Witch, Guardians will embark on a mission to establish contact with Savathun through her ghost, Immaru. The season's trailer reveals that Eris Morn will transform into a Hive entity to seek vengeance against those who stole her Light. Furthermore, she will empower Guardians with Hive magic to aid them in their battle against Xivu Arath, who will make her debut appearance in Destiny 2. Additionally, the showcase also provides information about two matchmade activities that players can join in the Season of the Witch.

The Savathun's Spire activity, explained on the official Bungie website, involves powering the spire, defeating its custodians, and gaining access to the Altars of Summoning. Collecting and depositing tithes in the Savathun's Spire activity will grant rewards and access to the Altars of Summoning. Additionally, the upcoming Season of the Witch in Destiny 2 will introduce a Deck-building mechanic, allowing players to create unique builds using different cards for the new activities.

As part of Season of the Witch, Crota's End raid will make a return to Destiny 2 on September 1. The Day 1 Raid Race will follow a similar format as the Root of Nightmares, with the Contest Mode active for 48 hours. Furthermore, Destiny 2 Season 22 has revamped several weapon classes and introduced a new Hand Cannon archetype. It also brings back beloved Exotic missions through the new Exotic Mission Rotator.

The Destiny 2 showcase unveiled intriguing information about The Final Shape. In this expansion, Guardians will explore the Traveler to confront the Witness. Additionally, Cayde-6 will make a return to Destiny 2, and players can expect the revival of beloved Destiny 1 weapons. Bungie has reassured fans that the Final Shape DLC's campaign and raid will serve as a satisfactory conclusion to the Light and Darkness saga, deviating from the storytelling approach of Lightfall.
