NetherRealm Studios' fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available as an exclusive feature for those who paid an additional fee. Since its release, fans have expressed their thoughts on various aspects of the game, including Megan Fox's voice acting as Nitara.
Fans of the franchise were quick to point out that Fox's performance appeared underwhelming compared to the rest of the cast. Searching "Megan Fox Mortal Kombat" on X (formerly Twitter) will display a plethora of tweets from fans sharing their opinions on her portrayal. One user remarked, "Megan Fox's performance in Mortal Kombat 1... it's quite something, isn't it?" Another user was more direct, stating, "If I had one critique about the game, it would be Megan Fox. Her delivery as Nitara is incredibly poor. Every word she utters lacks emotion."
Despite the criticism Fox has faced for her performance in cutscenes and fight intros, not all of Nitara's voice lines have been problematic. Cristina Vee Valenzuela, known for her role as Miraculous Ladybug's voice, recently confirmed on Twitter that she supplied all of Nitara's battle cries.
It's worth noting that NetherRealm Studios has a history of hiring celebrities to voice characters in their games. In 2019, WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey voiced Sonya Blade in Mortal Kombat 11, and fans had similar complaints about her performance. Additionally, the studio also secured Jean-Claude Van Damme to voice himself in MK 1 as a skin for Johnny Cage.
