A Genshin Impact fan has crafted an incredible full-plate armor design for Jean, a beloved Anemo sword user. Jean has been a prominent character in the game since its launch and is recognized as the Acting Grandmaster of the Knights of Favonious in Mondstadt.
Despite Genshin Impact's focus on its playable characters, new cosmetic options are infrequently introduced. The most recent additions were Ayaka's Springbloom Missive and Lisa's A Sobriquet Under Shade skins, which debuted during the Lantern Rite Festival in update 3.4.
A concept shared by a Reddit user named LewdLadModding presents an intriguing idea of outfitting Grandmaster Jean, a popular character, with full-plate armor. This concept received positive feedback from the community and garnered over 3.7k upvotes on the official Genshin Impact subreddit. Many fans express a preference for this outfit compared to any other skins released in the game thus far. Jean, the first five-star character to receive a new outfit during the Summer-themed Golden Apple Archipelago event in update 1.6, holds a special place in the game's Standard Character Banner. Acquiring Jean proves to be more challenging as this banner features seven different five-star units. However, Travelers have the chance to obtain this Anemo character by partaking in a limited banner and experiencing a 50-50 chance. It is worth noting that despite once being regarded as a must-have support character, Jean has not been part of the character meta for quite some time. Even the introduction of Dendro elemental reactions did not enhance her standing in the meta, as Anemo abilities lack interaction with it.
Genshin Impact players have been requesting HoYoverse to strengthen or redesign some of their earliest five-star characters, including Jean, Diluc, and Keqing, in the past few months. Since the game's release in September 2020, developer HoYoverse has been consistent in introducing new costumes during two important events: the Golden Apple Archipelago event and the Lantern Rite Festival.
In the recently concluded Special Program event, the upcoming Genshin Impact version 3.8 announced an updated version of the GAA event. The live stream also confirmed the introduction of two new outfits for the five-star Pyro user Klee and the four-star Cryo character Kaeya. As usual, players can expect Klee's skin to be available at a discounted price during the event, while Kaeya's skin can be obtained for free by completing certain objectives.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
