A player in Baldur's Gate 3 showcased the game's character customization potential by recreating the Dragon from Shrek. This accomplishment adds to the ever-growing collection of unique characters crafted by the game's fans since its release on August 3rd. For those who prefer not to use the predefined Origin characters, there is the option to create a protagonist completely from scratch when starting a new campaign. Reddit user scary__snek recently showcased their impressive recreation of the Dragon from Shrek in Baldur's Gate 3. By selecting the Dragonborn race and specifically the Red Dragonborn subrace, they were able to achieve a faithful representation. After experimenting with skin color and makeup, they settled on a pinkish shade of red to match the character's distinctive scales and recreated the iconic fluorescent green eyes. Though the design process wasn't provided in detail, it is suggested that they utilized either the Lapis Studmuffin or Midnight Tears piercing styles from the Dragonborn appearance screen's Body Art section. This is not the first instance of players using the Dragonborn race in Baldur's Gate 3 to recreate beloved characters from other media. Shortly after the game's release, another player successfully designed a protagonist inspired by Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by working with the appearance options for the Green Dragonborn subrace.

In addition to the enjoyable experience of playing as famous lizards, there are multiple reasons to choose a Dragonborn character in Baldur's Gate 3. The race provides significant enhancements to Charisma and Strength, making them well-suited for classes such as Bards, Barbarians, Fighters, Monks, Paladins, and Warlocks, all of which prioritize these abilities.

Moreover, each Dragonborn subrace possesses its own Breath Weapon, granting a potent area-of-effect attack that can be used once per Short or Long Rest, remaining valuable even during the final boss battle. Additionally, the unique appearance of Dragonborn characters sets them apart as the least humanoid race in Baldur's Gate 3, resulting in distinct reactions from various NPCs, thus enabling numerous exceptional interactions throughout the game's three-act campaign.

Baldur's Gate 3 is out now for PC. A PS5 version releases on September 6, and an Xbox Series X/S version is also in development.
