Some of the changes include the addition of red dots on the map, similar to traditional Call of Duty multiplayer. Players will also have the ability to control and drive the train that weaves through Urzikstan. In addition, there will be different variations of the Gulag, such as a night vision Gulag, to add some variety to the gameplay. Quality of life improvements will also be implemented, including gas masks that are always equipped and a pistol that is readily available when players are on ladders or underwater. The game will feature a higher Time to Kill, horizontal ziplines, and movement mechanics from Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer. This new take on Warzone is based on fan feedback and it will be interesting to see how it all comes together in practice.
The new Warzone map was unveiled during the Call of Duty Next event, which provided fans with a closer look at the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer and the ambitious open world Zombies mode. Interestingly, the Zombies mode will take place on the new Warzone map. Activision has clearly made a significant investment in this map and only time will tell if it pays off.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
