Get ready for an exciting update to Call of Duty: Warzone with the upcoming Season 4. Along with the usual additions of new weapons, operators, and vehicles, this season promises to be extra special with the introduction of a brand-new map named Vondel. Taking players to a Baroque European city, Vondel will offer stunning scenery and architecture that hasn't been seen before in Warzone. Initially launching as a resurgence and DMZ map, Vondel will eventually become available in core Warzone playlists, providing players with a range of exciting points of interest to explore.
Call of Duty: Warzone Vondel: Castle
Vondel's expansive castle is one of the largest points of interest in the area. It's a 13th-century world heritage site and appears to be a heavily fortified location situated in the North of the map, potentially serving as a strong stronghold within Warzone's DMZ mode. Due to its limited entry points, Castle is strategically valuable and boasts the tallest buildings in Vondel. With its commanding views and considerable size, it's expected that Castle will be a highly sought-after location for players when Season 4 launches on June 14.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Vondel: University and City Hall
The impressive Vondel University stands tall with its three-story building and is surrounded by a plethora of facilities, including a university village, catering to various activities, from distant to close-range encounters. City Hall, located in proximity, is a five-story historic building with awe-inspiring architecture, featuring spacious halls and narrow passageways. The rooftop serves as an excellent observation point accessible from inside the building or through external ascenders.
Call of Duty: Warone: Vondel: Mall and Central Station
The Mall POI in Vondel offers a diverse mix of outdoor and indoor spaces for players to explore. This flat, yet expansive area is known for its abundance of loot, making it a popular destination for players looking to stock up on supplies.
Situated on the opposite side of the river from the Mall is the Central Station POI. While the trains may no longer be operational due to extensive damage, Central Station is still a stronghold-heavy area that can be accessed through both conventional means and a variety of hidden underground entrances.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Vondel: Market and Police Station
The Vondel Market is heavily damaged and lacks adequate cover for players. However, the Stardtpoort pub and billiards hall, located within the POI, offers a crucial vantage point overlooking the open area. Similar to Central Station, the Market also features a variety of underground tunnels that players can use for cover. Just south of the Market lies the Police Station POI, a fortified five-story building that promises both strongholds and plentiful loot and ammunition. The building's height provides a significant strategic advantage, or players can engage in river combat using the new amphibious vehicles introduced in Vondel.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Vondel: Museum and Exhibit
The Museum POI is a sprawling complex that offers a variety of combat scenarios. With its spacious interiors, some portions of the building can even accommodate vehicles. Additionally, Museum features an underground reservoir designed for water-based battles. Standing tall among the buildings in Vondel, it provides an ideal spot for snipers in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
In contrast, the nearby Exhibit POI is a smaller, contemporary museum designed to resemble a cruise ship. Its narrow passageways make close-quarter combat unavoidable, so players must be strategic in navigating the area.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Vondel: Stadium and Cruise Terminal
The Vondel Stadium POI is a modestly-sized area that offers a good amount of open space. Operators can benefit from the leftover cover from a past paintball championship, providing more opportunities for on-pitch encounters similarly to Verdansk's stadium.
Located just south of the Stadium, the Cruise Terminal POI is a much larger and more expansive location. It consists of three main buildings that cater to different needs, ranging from boarding gates to luxurious waiting areas that feature bars and restaurants. Additionally, the POI boasts a complex hotel with a helipad, providing a panoramic view of the relatively flat map. The Cruise Terminal offers an array of engagement ranges, creating an unpredictable and dynamic combat experience.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Vondel: Zoo and Floating District
At Vondel's Zoo, players can explore a vast area surrounded by rivers and accessible by only a few bridges. Though fairly isolated, the POI offers ample open space and various exhibits with some remaining zoo animals. It serves as a popular route to denser areas of the map. The Floating District POI, inspired by real-life cities like Amsterdam, comprises floating containers and living quarters connected by bridges. Players can swim around and under the structures to gain an advantage over their opponents, making it a fascinating location to explore.
Call of Duty: Warzone: Vondel: Fire Department and Graveyard
The Fire Department POI in Vondel's Western region is a formidable compound with a U-shaped design, featuring water-access for various infiltration strategies. Ironically, a large propane tank beside the POI poses a significant danger during combat. On the other hand, the Graveyard POI offers a quieter alternative for operators, but it is no less complex. In addition to the cemetery, the location includes a funeral parlor and an extensive underground morgue. While the surrounding structures offer a height advantage, the underground morgue provides exceptional verticality for the upcoming Vondel battles.
Call of Duty: Warzone is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
