In the previous main scenario quest of Final Fantasy 16, there was a slight delay. However, Clive, Jill, and Goetz successfully broke through the barricade obstructing their path towards their objective. The last Mothercrystal in the Crystalline Dominion holds significant importance and destroying it would bring a significant triumph for Clive and his comrades.

Unfortunately, the Empire controls the Crystalline Dominion and they will not allow anyone to approach the Mothercrystal without a fight. Fortunately, an unexpected chaos ensues, offering Clive and Jill a perfect opportunity to advance. As players embark on the main scenario quest titled "Fire in the Sky," they can anticipate the following events in Final Fantasy 16.

This walkthrough contains significant spoilers, so players should proceed with caution.

Go to the Belltower

Starting this main scenario quest, players will find themselves standing atop a building's rooftop. They should navigate across the roof and then turn left, making their way across the adjacent scaffolding. To progress further, they must scale up a wall, leading them onto another roof. Finally, climbing a ladder will bring them to the pinnacle of a tower. Completion of this climb will trigger a cutscene, followed by the players descending to the streets below.

Not long afterwards, players will come across a group of dragoons who will spot and attack them. After swiftly dealing with this group, players will need to proceed a bit further and face yet another group. Once all enemies have been successfully vanquished, it is important to loot the nearby chest for any valuable items. Following the loot, players are to crawl under the ruins of an archway. As players continue their journey, they will encounter a point where the road breaks down and transforms into a slope, leading them directly into the underground sewers of the city.

The sewer passages are narrow, making it challenging to avoid battles. Fortunately, the enemies here are not particularly strong, so players should have little trouble defeating them. Soon, players will emerge back onto the streets. There is a Potion available on the nearby dock. Activate the lever to ascend and reach an enemy checkpoint. Eliminate the guards and proceed through the checkpoint. Further ahead, players will confront a larger group of enemies.

Dispatch this group and proceed through the small iron gate, then ascend the ladder on the opposite side. Continue along this path and handle any additional enemy groups encountered. Eventually, players will reach a substantial pair of double doors. It is crucial to be fully healed before entering, as a boss fight awaits on the other side.

How to Beat the White Dragon

In this expansive courtyard, players will be confronted with a formidable dragon untainted by corruption. The encounter commences as the White Dragon launches an onslaught of icy assaults. Agile evasions are necessary to avoid these projectiles, and players must seize the opportunity to strike back only after the attack subsides. Additionally, the White Dragon intermittently performs a spinning charge towards the players. This move unfolds unexpectedly, evoking greater difficulty in evading compared to other attacks.

Once in a while, the boss unleashes a burst of energy by stomping on the ground with its front feet. When the boss's health drops below 70%, it will cast Emanation. This attack summons multiple ice crystals that hover around the boss and emit beams of blue energy. These beams inflict substantial damage, so players are advised to prioritize evading them until the attack concludes.

Speak With Jill

Players must be wary of another threat posed by the White Dragon - its devastating breath attack on the ground. This unleashes a conspicuous blue circle, signaling the urgency for players to swiftly move away from it. As the boss's health depletes to 25%, it will then initiate the Dragon Dance, akin to the previous Emanation attack, but with an added twist of releasing multiple blue spheres that gradually advance towards the player. Navigate through these assaults by evading them, only to resume the offensive once they subside. Maintain a relentless assault until the boss is eventually defeated.

Once the series of cutscenes is over, players will find themselves in a fresh location. To prepare for upcoming challenges, it is advisable to restock on items from Goetz before engaging with Jill. In addition to offering a range of supplies, Goetz also has the ability to craft both armor and weapons, ensuring all your needs are met. When fully prepared, approach Jill and initiate a conversation.

Go to the Heart

Follow the remaining path through the ruins to reach an open area where enemies await. Eliminate them and approach a small iron gate. Proceed through it and descend to enter another area teeming with enemies, including a lich. Remain vigilant for its presence. Once this group has been vanquished, ascend the nearby wall and continue ahead to initiate a cutscene.

After the cutscene concludes, press onward towards the core of the Mothercrystal. Engage and defeat a small group of enemies, then continue following the path upwards towards the core. Maintain momentum until encountering the Undertaker, a boss previously confronted in the game. Overcome the Undertaker and continue along the path to eventually trigger another cutscene, leading to a boss battle.

How to Beat Necrophobe

Players will come across an entity resembling Ultima. Necrophobe, a formidable adversary, depends on four small devices to release powerful ranged assaults on players. Evade the diverse projectile attacks and advance towards Necrophobe for an offensive strike. This boss exhibits remarkable mobility and persistently attempts to distance itself from players. Additionally, the boss sporadically charges towards players, so remain prepared to dodge it.

When the boss's health drops to 75%, it will unleash Elemental Disonance. To avoid this attack, move away from the boss. At this point, the boss will start using powerful magic spells like Firaga and Blizzaga. As the boss's health reaches 40%, it will prepare a devastating attack. Prevent it from launching by depleting the purple bar. Additionally, watch out for the boss infusing its weapon with Firaga and Blizzaga.

As Necrophobe's health diminishes, it will employ Dual Cast for its spells. Players must be prepared to dodge the same spell twice during this phase. Continue damaging the boss until it is defeated. Once the boss is defeated, proceed along the path ahead. Enter the building and climb the stairs. Upon entering the next room, a cutscene will trigger. After that, another Eikon battle awaits.

How to Beat Bahamut

The boss battle begins with a series of Cinematic Strikes and Evasions, followed by the formation of an arena for players to face Bahamut directly. Players must dodge Bahamut's attacks and attack him relentlessly. When Bahamut's health reaches approximately 80%, a cutscene introduces the Phoenix to the fight, granting players the Spitflare ability. This ability allows Ifrit to unleash a powerful beam of fire.

At around 60% health, Bahamut will unleash Gigaflare, a move that cannot be avoided due to it being part of a cutscene. From this point forward, players will take control of the Phoenix and continue battling Bahamut. The focus should be on attacking Bahamut while evading his attacks. When Bahamut creates a ring of spheres, players must destroy them using their projectile attack. It's important to note that Bahamut will also cast Megaflare, which can be challenging to completely dodge.

When Bahamut reaches the halfway point of its health, be on the lookout for glowing projectiles accompanied by health bars. It is crucial to eliminate these projectiles swiftly before resuming the attack on Bahamut. As the battle unfolds, Bahamut will once again cast Gigaflare. Take note that this particular ability has an extensive countdown. During this period, it is imperative for players to destroy all five spheres surrounding Bahamut to prevent the devastating attack from occurring.

Eventually, the battle descends back into the arena and players wrest back control over Ifrit. Remain vigilant against Bahamut's relentless onslaughts while seizing opportunities to strike in between his devastating abilities. When the Phoenix summons a protective semi-spherical shield, seek refuge within its confines to avert catastrophic damage from Teraflare. This action triggers a spectacular Cinematic Clash, seamlessly merging the interactive and cinematic elements of the fight. Following this intense encounter, the battle resumes its course. When Bahamut's health plummets below the 10% threshold, brace yourself for a pair of monumental Cinematic Clashes, culminating in a resounding victory for the players.

Players may believe this, but after a short cutscene, they will engage in a new fight against Bahamut in outer space, controlling a fusion of Ifrit and Phoenix. Despite using some of his previous abilities, the most important thing to be cautious of is Bahamut's beam attack from his mouth, as it is difficult to anticipate. When Bahamut's health falls below 50%, a Cinematic Evasion will take place.

When Bahamut initiates the Teraflare attack, the purple gauge needs to be depleted in order to halt the attack. Players should maintain an offensive strategy and once Bahamut's health drops below 10% again, a Cinematic Clash will occur, resulting in a genuine victory for the players. Subsequently, a series of cutscenes will bring the ongoing main scenario quest to a conclusion.
