How To Unlock Brutalities in MK1How To Perform Brutalities In MK1
In the Mortal Kombat series, players have various options to defeat their opponents at the end of a fight aside from Fatalities. These alternative finishing moves include Friendships, Babalities, Animalities, and many more. While these finishers are not available in Mortal Kombat 1, Brutalities were introduced with the game's launch.
What sets Brutalities apart from Fatalities is that they are not performed after the appearance of the FINISH HIM screen. Instead, in MK1, players must execute a specific ability as the very last hit of the final round, even before the FINISH HIM screen appears.
How To Unlock Brutalities in MK1
In Mortal Kombat 1, most characters start with the same Brutality called "The Klassic," where the player finishes off their opponent with a decapitating uppercut. However, there are also several other Character Brutalities that are unique to each character and can be unlocked.
While characters can execute Fatalities that they haven't officially unlocked by inputting the correct manual commands, Brutalities cannot be performed until they have been unlocked.
Each character possesses a unique Character Mastery track that offers rewards as the character progresses in Invasions, Towers, and online versus battles. Although the rewards may vary, all playable characters receive the same types of rewards at each level.
Upon reaching levels 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15, characters acquire new Brutalities. To expedite the leveling process and unlock all Brutalities, prioritize focusing on a single character in Invasions, Towers, and particularly online matches.
How To Perform Brutalities In MK1
Each character's Brutalities have distinct input requirements that are usually linked to special abilities and unique moves. To view the necessary inputs for a Brutality, navigate to the Move List menu and select the Finishers tab. However, simply executing the listed inputs at the conclusion of a match is insufficient.
In order to perform a Brutality in MK1, players must continue to hold down the inputs after landing the final hit of the match. It is crucial to carefully monitor the opponent's HP and only attempt a Brutality when confident it will reduce their health to 0.
To perform the commonly known "The Klassic" Brutality move, players must execute an uppercut (D2) on their opponent and ensure they continue holding down the uppercut inputs without releasing. As the player swiftly punches their opponent's head off in slow-motion, the background will fade into a dark, shadowy black. Following this, the "BRUTALITY" end-of-match text will appear.
Mortal Kombat 1 can be played on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
