The Rasetsu, an extraordinary Tech Sniper Rifle, makes its debut in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. With its distinctive design, animations, and the ability to slightly home in on targets when fully charged, it is an invaluable addition to any sniper rifle collection.
Highlighted in the pre-release trailers of the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, this iconic weapon offers more than the typical one-shot headshot capability expected from its gun class. Read on to discover how to acquire it.
How to Get the Rasetsu Sniper Rifle in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty
The Rasetsu is conveniently obtained in the game. Players will receive it automatically upon completing the sniper overwatch section of the You Know My Name mission, which is a crucial part of the main quest line for Phantom Liberty.
After infiltrating the Black Sapphire through the sewers, V will eventually reach a sniper's nest. In this area, they must tactfully guide Solomon Reed through a heavily guarded zone. During this time, V will already be equipped with the Rasetsu, mounted onto a mechanical weapons platform, ensuring complete silence. Once this quest section is successfully finished, V will automatically detach the Rasetsu from its mount and add it to their inventory.
When utilizing this gun in the field, it is important to consider two factors: its suppressed capability has been eliminated, and it no longer possesses infinite ammunition. With a mere three bullets per magazine, engaging multiple targets in a single firefight may prove to be a cumbersome task.
The Rasetsu stands out with its signature perk as a railgun capable of penetrating cover and enemy targets. Additionally, when fully charged, it seeks out targets close to the initial enemy hit, although within a limited angle. This ensures that the weapon never misses collateral targets, although any enemies beyond the first are likely to survive unless hit in the head or a Vulnerability spot.
Similar to other iconic weapons, the Rasetsu cannot be modified. However, being a Tech weapon, it does benefit from the Tech Weapon skill branch within the revamped Technical Ability tree. The Bolt skill increases the Rasetsu's direct damage while reducing its penetration power, while the Chain Lightning skill causes Bolt shots to arc electric damage between targets. Both of these skills significantly enhance the Rasetsu's ammo efficiency and effectiveness against small groups of closely clustered enemies.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
