GameStop is offering a code for an Electric Tera type Mimikyu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for a limited time.
Mimikyu, a beloved Ghost-type Pokemon, now has the ability to undergo terastallization and transform into an Electric-type, providing fresh tactical advantages. Terastallization, a unique battle feature featured in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, empowers Pokemon to amplify the strength of a particular type.
Players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can now visit GameStop to obtain a code for an Electric Tera type Mimikyu. Mimikyu, a beloved Ghost-type Pokemon, was originally introduced in the Generation 7 games Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Since its debut, Mimikyu has become a fan favorite in the Generation 7 Pokemon games. Countless Mimikyu merchandise has been created, and the creature has been featured in various events in multiple Pokemon games. The latest event allows players of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to add this popular Ghost-type Pokemon to their team, but with the added bonus of it having an Electric Tera type, greatly expanding its combat capabilities.
The Electric Tera type Mimikyu is up for grabs at your local GameStop from October 13 to October 29. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can snag a complimentary code from GameStop while supplies last. This code unlocks the Electric Tera type Mimikyu, complete with a Cherish Ball, Classic Ribbon, and Life Orb. Moreover, this giveaway Mimikyu comes equipped with the Thunderbolt move, which can be further amplified if players choose to terastallize it during battle. Just redeem the code through the Mystery Gift menu, similar to other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet distribution events.
Terastallization, introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, is a new battle gimmick that significantly boosts the power of a specific type. Unlike previous mechanics, Pokemon have the ability to terastallize into a different type from their base type. For instance, Mimikyu, a Ghost-type Pokemon, can now terastallize into an Electric-type. This unique feature revolutionizes battles and forces players to reconsider their strategies.
Although it remains to be seen, it is unlikely that this gimmick will continue beyond the scope of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Typically, these Pokemon battle gimmicks have only lasted for one generation, much to the disappointment of fans. Fan outrage was particularly evident when Mega Evolutions were removed after the Generation 6 Pokemon games. However, there is no indication from Game Freak that they plan on reintroducing Mega Evolutions in future games.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, offer fans the opportunity to experience terastallization. Anticipating future Pokemon games to introduce their own battle gimmicks, players can currently enjoy this unique feature in these games. The first DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is currently released, while fans eagerly await the upcoming expansion, The Indigo Disk.
