Fastest Way to Obtain Larvesta Candies

Bug-type Pokemon often have the advantage of evolving at lower levels, some even as early as level 10. However, there is one notable exception - Larvesta, which undergoes its evolution into Volcarona at a much later stage, specifically at level 59. An interesting dilemma arises in Pokemon GO, where the concept of levels is absent. Thus, the question arises: How can Larvesta be evolved?

Along with Magikarp and several other Pokemon, Larvesta requires an extraordinary amount of Candy to evolve in the game Pokemon GO. However, obtaining Candy for this Bug/Fire-type Pokemon poses a challenge for players, as it is not currently accessible in the wild.

Larvesta, a newly introduced Pokemon in Pokemon GO, can now be obtained by hatching 5km Eggs. Interestingly, it holds the distinction of being the most elusive Pokemon to hatch from this particular egg pool, presenting a mere 5-star/egg chance of hatching.

The 5km Egg, just like any other Egg, requires placement in an incubator in order to hatch. As steps are taken towards reaching the 5km mark, the Egg will gradually warm up.

To obtain 2km - 10km Eggs, players can spin Poke Stops or Gyms. However, since it is randomized, there is no assurance that players will receive a 5km Egg on their initial spin. Additionally, players have a maximum capacity of holding 9 Eggs at once, excluding the 3 Strange Eggs that belong to their own category.

To use an Incubator, do the following:

Tap the Poke Ball/menu icon at the bottom of the main screen.

Select Pokemon (the Pikachu icon) to pull up the Pokemon Storage.

Slide right to tab over to the Eggs page.

Choose an Egg, then click on the Incubate option.

Each player of Pokemon GO will possess an unbreakable Egg Incubator. Should they desire additional Incubators, they can acquire them from the in-game store. An Egg Incubator costs 150 Poke Coins, while a Super Incubator costs 200 Poke Coins. The latter will become unusable after three applications.

Sometimes Pokemon GO will have Limited Time Only! boxes in the shop that contain incubators. The Voyager Box is 1750 Poke Coins, but it has:

x8 Super Incubator

x10 Egg Incubator

x40 Ultra Ball

A Super Incubator will decrease the required distance for Egg hatching by 50%. Therefore, if players desire to place a 5km Egg into a Super Incubator, they will only need to walk 1.7km instead of the complete 5km.

Larvesta and its evolved form have recently been added to Pokemon GO, but they are currently only available through hatching eggs. As a result, they cannot be found in the wild, which makes it difficult for trainers to encounter them. However, when trainers do come across them, they have the opportunity to enhance their Candy yield by using Pinap Berries or Silver Pinap Berries. These berries double the amount of Candy received from a successful catch.

Larvesta requires 400 Larvesta Candies for evolution. These Candies can be obtained by hatching more Larvestas from 5km Eggs or by designating Larvesta as your Buddy Pokemon. When a 5km Egg is hatched, approximately 20 Pokemon Candy is obtained. By designating Larvesta as your Buddy, you can acquire one Larvesta Candy for every 5km walked. To set Larvesta as your Buddy, click on the trainer icon located in the bottom left corner and then tap on the Buddy icon below the Trainer Level EXP bar.

To speed up the Candy-farming process for Egg-exclusive Pokemon, hatching Eggs is the most effective method to obtain Candies in larger quantities. Unfortunately, Larvesta, being the rarest Pokemon in the 5km pool, is often more difficult to obtain compared to more common Pokemon such as Machop and Tyrogue.

Nevertheless, players can take advantage of occasional Pokemon GO events that offer double the amount of Candy earned from hatching Eggs. To stay informed about ongoing events, players can follow these steps:

Select the Binoculars icon.

Swipe left to the Today tab.

Underneath the Timed Research, you will find the Current Seasons. Occasionally, an event may offer "1.5x Hatch Candy" or higher.

If players have Larvesta as their walking buddy, they have the option to reduce the distance needed to earn Candy by giving it a Poffin. Poffins can be obtained through specific Special Research tasks and Field Research tasks (AR Scan). Additionally, players have the option to purchase Poffins from the in-game store for 100 Poke Coins.

Due to the scarcity of Poffins, it is advisable for players to judiciously utilize them when they have sufficient time for Pokemon GO. The impact of a Poffin will endure for a duration of 6 hours, resulting in a doubled number of Hearts obtained through activities. Therefore, it is recommended to employ Poffins frugally. Players can access Pokemon GO on their mobile devices.
