Niantic recently hosted the Pokemon GO Fest Global 2023 event, which allowed players all over the world to take advantage of increased spawns and shiny Pokemon. Now, fans of the original Pokemon series will be delighted to know that one of the iconic 151 Pokemon will be showcased in September's Community Day. These events are highly anticipated by players, as they offer boosted spawn and shiny rates, as well as special Field Research and exclusive moves for the featured Pokemon. An exciting announcement has been made by Niantic, revealing that September 2023's Community Day Classic event will be centered around the popular Pokemon, Charmander. Taking place on Saturday, September 2nd from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. local time, this event will offer increased encounter rates for the Fire starter Pokemon, Charmander. Additionally, players who evolve their Charmeleon into a Charizard during the event will have the opportunity to unlock special moves for Charizard, including the fast attack Dragon Breath and the Charged Attack, Blast Burn. To make this event even more enticing, a special "Classic Special Research" story will be available for purchase.
In addition to the increased Charmander rates, the Community Day event in Pokemon GO will offer various special perks. Players will benefit from higher Stardust rates when catching Pokemon, and the duration of Incenses and Lure Modules will be extended to three hours. Moreover, there will be special Timed Research missions that reward players with Mega Energy for their newly obtained Charizards. Furthermore, select PokeStops will host special PokeStop Showcases during the Community Day event.
Pokemon GO's latest Community Day arrives after the game received numerous significant updates throughout the summer of 2023. Earlier this month, Niantic announced the addition of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's starter Pokemon to Pokemon GO in September. In July, Routes were introduced, allowing players to share their in-game walking paths with others. With September's Charmander Community Day, players have the opportunity to capture one of the franchise's most iconic creatures.
