Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now redeem profile icons, backgrounds, and borders to create personalized profile pictures. Nintendo previously released a special custom icon for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to promote the game's launch. It appears that a similar event is happening again, and this guide will demonstrate how gamers can unlock new Tears of the Kingdom icons and customize their Nintendo Switch profile pictures.
Available Tears of the Kingdom Character Icons
The custom Tears of the Kingdom character icons will be released in five weekly waves, giving gamers the opportunity to unlock their favorite characters from August 3 until September 7. These icons can then be used as Nintendo Switch profiles, allowing players to showcase their chosen character whenever they desire. How to Redeem Custom Icons
Just like all other custom profile icons, the Tears of the Kingdom icons are only available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
To redeem the custom icons, players need to access the Nintendo Switch Online app. It can be found as the red icon in the bottom left corner of the screen, next to the notifications tab. Players must log in to their own account and navigate to the Missions & Rewards tab. Here, they can choose and redeem their preferred icons, backgrounds, and borders.
To obtain all available icons, players need to collect a total of 110 Platinum Points, with each character icon costing ten Platinum Points. Fortunately, additional points can be earned by completing weekly missions on My Nintendo.
